I think it's time for a heavy ranking session about something completely random about Gags :suburban:

Along the line of "what is your favorite Gags-related meme" or something like that, we need to save the Base :suburban:

This is the most boring pop album era of her career so far.

At least with Chromatica there was the pandemic excuse.

I mean....4 years later we're getting the homemade performances we were begging for during Chromatica era.:rip:

We're getting 1 album era per 4 years and they're underwhelming.

Guys I have just wandering around the lists of different publications (P4K, NME, Variety, Rolling Stone, Consequence, etc.) and NONE of them mentioned Die with a Smile in their Best Songs of 2024 lists :skull:

Isn't it a bit alarming since almost all of the lists mentioned all songs including Birds of a Feather, Expresso, Not Like Us, A Bar Song, Good Luck Babe. :deadbanana2:  and they are the competition of Dwas for Song of the Year at the Grammys. I am a bit worried now. Why all of a sudden the critics want to snub Dwas?

Is there any sabotage going on?

Culturally, "DWAS" hasn't made a huge splash. It's a massive mega hit—bigger than the other songs you mentioned—but because its audience skews older, it doesn't feel as relevant. I don't think it will win Song of the Year. Best Collaboration seems like the safest bet, though even there, the competition is tough.

Given how things are going this year, I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up losing both nominations.

Nope, the song is a smash, we're greatful she gave us yet another one but it's not some kind of a masterpiece imo.I still love it obviously.

Honestly, I could see them getting Pop Duo as a consolation prize if they decide to perform (which I hope they do and make the song get a new peak). SOTY seems out of reach already, or maybe I'm just used with all the Ls we took this year. :deadbanana4:

Not trying to be delulu, but I did notice that DWAS especially resonated with Black people in America and much of its viralness can be attributed to Black twitter/Black TikTok content creators embracing the song.

I'm not surprised that DWAS is not making it onto the year-end lists because like... these publications are predominantly white and are like completely oblivious to what's currently a cultural moment outside of their upper-middle-to-upper-class white bubble. Usually really great pieces of work by black artists get buried in the crossfire, now it just so happens that it's Gaga & Bruno's song. Apart from that, I did notice a lowkey media hatetrain against both Gaga and Bruno for their Grammy campaigns, with both of them being immediately labeled "Grammy darlings" akin to Beyoncé with an eyeroll.

Disease is a buzz single, to let people know she's back on her ra ra ***** bag. :suburban:LG7 era officially starts January with many things to look forward to throughout 2025: LG7, Coachella, Copacabana, Wednesday.

2025 is the "real"  important and meaningful year for us all, I know :suburban:

I was actually thinking about how one could make Wicked edits either Disease but I don't have that kind of time :deadbanana:

Someone more TikTok savvy and influential, get on that!
