Can the album cover leak so she has no other option but to officially announce it? :santa:

Right and the lack of merch and physical copies of Disease seems to confirm that.

It's really sad that you could just take A BOP like Disease and throw it at the world like nothing. But it seems like they really had no choice. I'm a little suspicious because of all the impeccable rollout of Harlequin, but seeing it now, it seems like they replaced the film's promo with floods of Harlequin promos because if you analyze the interviews (late show and jimmy), she basically only talks about the album and not at all about the movie.

Sad, but we have nothing to do but accept it and move on. Hope they make up for it next year with at least a worthy rollout for the 2nd single and the album release week.

So... Even without the Kendrick album drop, DWAS would still be #2 behind A Bar Song.

Please. That article with the Interscope exec spilled enough to know this is not true, nor does it makes sense. Harlequin is a companion album to the movie, when was she expecting to release it had the movie been a success, a few weeks later at max? :rip: They recognized they relied too much on Joker period, we're choosing to believe this mindtrapper instead? Let's accept defeat and move on. We're all disappointed and want to get excited for what's to come.

I think you don't understand what he said. And it's ok, i'm not going to waste my energy discussing things that have already been discussed here millions of times and we all know the end point :rip: so let's wait for what's to come.

Dddd and I'm including myself in that. :rip:

Though, tbf, even at my lowest mentally, I never felt the need to lash out a stranger because she wouldn't, *checks notes*, promote a song while wearing Alexander McQueen.

That is because Beyoncé / Taylor never did the things Gaga did. Gaga actively went out of her way to alienate her fanbase. Not on purpose, but still:

  • Gaga said "pop music will never be low-brow" and then ditched it for 7 years at the first underperformance.
  • She said she wants to date a real man not an actor and then dated Taylor Kinney for how many years?
  • She said she doesn't care about money and being rich, and then went and became a corporate shill, even peddling medicine, which is one of the lowest lows you can do.
  • Then she stood on a stage in front of people and had the gall to say she actually really wanted to be an actress, but music worked out first (WTF?)
  • She stopped all fan interactions even though for a long time a big part of her brand was pretending that she cares about us.

She prioritiized her make-up venture and jazz over good music time and time again, and these things will always sting more from a person who made these big promises vs from someone who never said such things, so of course the other 2 fanbases are more faithful. Their faves never betrayed them in any of these ways.

Specially Taylor, she shows so much care and commitment for her art and still takes the time to treats her fans well too. Meanwhile we only receive very minimal content relating to her pop music. Like how many good music videos did she put out in the last 5 years? Even if we are being generous, it is only 2.

I could go on but this is already way too long, the point is it makes perfect sense for fans to stop being so devoted  to her when she clearly doesn't care. They will be back for the tour.

No shade to you, my good sis, but what the hell is this post? This is some **** straight out of GGD. :deadbanana:

All of these points have been addressed by other members, but I do want to point this out:

"She stopped all fan interactions even though for a long time a big part of her brand was pretending that she cares about us."

I'm not sure how long you've been a fan, but there was a very, very good, non-Gaga-causing reason why she pulled back from her fans. Anyone who uses that against her is just an *******.

"Specially Taylor, she shows so much care and commitment for her art and still takes the time to treats her fans well too."

Taylor is so connected to her fans because he fans respect her lol. It's a cycle.

It was just an interesting discussion we had about her career sis :date: We must pass the time somehow until January gets here.

I don't really buy that story that she released Disease because they knew JFAD was going to flop. Wasn't the tea that they only saw the movie for the first time at Venice and that was why Joaquin was whispering in her ear and then him and Todd had an argument outside the theatre or something? She posted about the LG7 single before that night.

I don't doubt mindtrappa maybe has insight into the industry, but I think if her team are running with this story behind the scenes that they knew JFAD was going to flop/they expected this to happen, that's collateral to show face. I know none of us are expecting a single release before January, but it would be absolutely crazy for her to serve radio silence (with the exception of a few Disease TikTok's are per their current tactics) until then. It's frustrating to see her and her team do... well I was going to say doing things wrong, but I guess what I really mean is do nothing. They go hand in hand in this instance sadly.

Propagaga. He had connections to the team and worked with them closely. He's got lots of experience of the show-biznes too.

But this is not any insider tea. He's just saying what he thinks will happen based on the knowledge he has from his experiences (I guess.)

So then who cares? Do y'all just bring this in here for the meltdowns? Mindtrappa has been criticizing even the song since release so idk about "personal opinions" having much validity

If anything else, stanning Gargoyle for almost 20 years has made me appreciate so many sounds and influences in pop music, past and present, that some would overlook or downplay. I fully give her credit to getting teenaged me to look at pop from a different perspective. I'll be forever grateful for that.

Despite my year(s) of mostly listening to Asian men, Bad Romance has remained my all-time most played song on Last.fm.

Out of curiosity, I looked how my plays of each of her leads stack up. I didn't use last.fm for like 8 years so that may have played into some of the later ones having a lot less.

Just Dance - 498 plays

Bad Romance - 1,400 plays

Born This Way - 830 plays

Applause - 607 plays

Perfect Illusion - 87 plays :rip:

Stupid Love - 154 plays

Disease - 192 plays

Top played non-singles:

Dance in the Dark - 1,192 plays

Government Hooker - 1,096 plays

Monster - 795 plays

Scheibe - 490 plays
