Maybe it's because I'm in my 30s but I just don't care whether a song I love flops or becomes a massive hit. The song is amazing and the music video was also a serve. That being said I am disappointed with how her team handles her pop career.

Or maybe she'll flop? Can y'all mentally prepare for that? Is that such a terrible thing? Maybe it's really arts not charts? Like Harlequin was.

I think most of us don't really care about the flop itself, but (at least for me) the concern is that if it flops, it might lead to her releasing pop-influenced records less and less often.

She could retreat into the HAC/jazz side of music, and that would probably be the end of my stan card :weeps:

I just need LG7 to do good enough to keep her pop-enthusiasm going :monkey:

I still think Gaga would benefit the most with an album released all at once, without any prior single, ala HMHAS. We can see how her last 3 lead singles have performed, so it's best to let people choose it at this point

She also gets the opportunity to promote it in a brief period of time, thus letting her focus more on her family and the tour, since that's where most of the coins comes from

Am i the only who feels this is more of farewell era, not new beginnings? She wants family and stuff idk rather than thinking about future records focus not this one because regardless of commercial performance, it might be the end of something.

Can we stop with that narrative that LG7 is pop only because Michael wanted it to be? This is not Chromatica 2.0 and Disease alone already proved it. With that Vogue quote, she obviously meant that he is supportive of her work & creativity and not a burden like some previous ones would be. If you still have trouble with that, Cirkut's interview for Billboard is right there. Maybe reading the words of a professional with actual insights on her creative process will make you eat your words. :coffee2:

Edit: Also, implying that Gaga would focus only on what makes her relevant and not what she likes, and that she only obeys to what men want from her, is literal misogyny.

Chromatica felt way more than a farewell, since you could tell she was really struggling with herself, always so self-doubting to the point her music was feeling somehow forced, not Gaga.

She's also said herself: the Chromatica Ball Tour helped her let all those doubts go, thus igniting all the passion she's had for music. If anything, LG7 is a new beginning, one where she's self-conscious, and daring, so Gaga. Of course she's gonna prioritize having a family (and thank goodness she is!), but what's really important is that she's once again confident in herself not just as a musician, but most importantly as a person.

I just can't wait for all the upcoming years honestly, that b!tch has me grabbed by the ballz and the heart

I've been listening to Harlequin quite a bit as of late. That's Life, Smile and That's Entertainment are so so so good.

At this point she has fully retreated into HAC/jazz and only does pop on the side.

No I agree, the music and visuals are on point so far. But thats why I am also mad aboout it. You think the budget for the next pop record(videos, visuals, playlisting, radio deals) is going to be big if LG7 flops? Or that she will even do another pop era again if she can find success with songs like DWAS and ARUTW instead? The only reason ARTPOP had 25M budget is because of previous BTW success.

During Chromatica she said she didnt wanna make pop music at all and in a pre- Disease interview she said how Michael told her to "that she needs to make a pop record again". Disase is an amazing song and it deserved to be a moderate hit at least. If she flops with another pop album what makes you think she will make another one ever again? Thats why I want LG7 to be a success. To inspire her to make more pop music because I stan her for her pop and not Jazz or Adult Conteporary like Shallow or DWAS. And to show her that she can still find success doing pop

The song was #1 on TTH, it got insane playlist reach while she had over 100m monthly listeners. Do you think MERCH or anything fan related would've made it a success?

It was doomed from the get-go as the song just isn't GP friendly. She MUST have known that the song wouldn't perform well commercially, but decided to feed the starving fans instead.

I'm sure her budget will be fine even if LG7 flops, not to mention that you don't even need high budget to serve good visuals etc. Now on her not wanting to do pop... I'm not sure it's success based or she's just sick of everything around pop.

Even if it is success based, that means her heart isn't really in it... in which case... let her do what she's passionate about.

(Also not the 25m ARTPOP Angela Cheng'd number, please)

There's people who want the album pushed back when the gap is already 4 months between the single & album? :rip:

It should move up to Jan 31 so it can benefit from the Grammys boost
