It's so weird how it doesn't even feel as big as Shallow, but will probably reach a new peak on that chart.

That's what I'm guessing. Bigger hits seem to be spending more time on the chart than they used to.

Globally, shallow's chart success totally resonates with how big it "felt", but it's US chart run is very underwhelming for how big it felt…

 

I think shallow feels so big also since it was quite literally the focal point of the movie and the movie was so big. Also that Oscar's performance really really felt huge. Plus all the Gaga/Bradly press felt huge.

 

to me Die with a smile feels bigger as a song/hit but pop culturally shallow definitely felt like a bigger moment

Gaga got dragged and discredited for ASIB being a "musical" and that it was easy for her to "act like a musician" and discredited even her Oscar win

but most fans here are being baited by the same people that are acting like that's not what Ariana is doing when it's almost the exact same: an established franchise, a musical, a girl who can sing. Expect Ariana was already supposed to be an "actress" and now theyre claiming she should win an Oscar

Yeah the fact that Shallow only had 7 weeks in the top 10 in the US but is now nearing 12x platinum just shows that it's so much bigger than it's US chart run. Though it's time spent on the H100 overall (45 weeks) is the second highest of any of her songs after Just Dance (49 weeks).

 

Now DWAS feels just as big as its US chart run (and hopefully we get the #1 tomorrow that proves that). They both feel like massive, remembered songs and anyone would be lucky to have one song that big after their mainstream career passes the decade mark. But Gaga has two

Yes and it needs to be noted how Ariana is NOT in the same situation as Gaga is because Ariana is more like Barbra Streisand who debuted with acting before she launched a successful musical career while Gaga is more like Cher in that she had to knock the barriers down from being labeled a singer only to an acclaimed actress. 

 

But it's not only on here this Gaga narrative goes. It's on other forums as well. She's never truly being celebrated when successful unlike her peers and she's heavily criticized when she flops. If Gaga had an album as polarizing as Taylor or had broken up a marriage like Ariana she'd be dragged to the extend that she would've flopped.

I will say in the video she was at least very understanding/gracious about it (and like any true Liddo she shifted any and all blame to Booby. That's how I know she's a real stan ). The comments are also commending the TikToker for being nice. And I guess part of working for an A-lister is sometimes being the bad guy (I'm sure security has to do it all the time) but either way
