Bad Romance took around 7 years according to the source date on Wikipedia.

it took 3 years and half actually for BR to reach diamond status. it was somewhere in 2013. and it was the first female song ever to reach that status. but as I remember it was fraudulent certification. RIAA counted her video views in a strange way. she wasn't near diamond at that time, but somehow BR managed to jump from 4x platinum to diamond in two years. that's why I guess it hasn't received any certification since 11x platinum in 2015, because RIAA adjusted their system and now they downplay BR numbers, because some of them weren't counted properly in 2013.

I think her label was hoping to have another Bloody Mary moment with Disease but you can't really repeat viral trends. Plus BM always had underground hype from being so good it had been successful on tiktok before it really blew up thanks to the Wednesday thing. Maybe she can actually get a song in season two of the show that might do something for her. :gaycat6:

If this era follows how they did the Joanne and Chrom era's she will push the second single the most and that will be the one her label is most confident in. Then we'll get another video and the era will be abandoned. :eddie:

Nympho at Ukmix (They either have access to Luminate data directly or know someone who does. They are the source of the numbers I was posting last week.) has updates for each of her albums.

Units moved this week in the US (US total is in parenthesis):

  • ASIB ost: 4,047 (4,047,259
  • Top Gun ost: 3,788 (1,403,150, and Nympho mentions that they're unsure of whether RIAA would credit Gaga with this cert seeing as she's credited on 2/3 of the soundtrack).
  • Harlequin: 2,084 (46,800
  • Chromatica: 1,634 (1,495,340)
  • Artpop: 1,403 (2,032,475

But isn't TF and TFM counted separately in the US? If so, how to know if TF is Diamond-eligible? Unless TFM sold 1M+ only.

According to Nympho, it seems like the data they have has 14-15 million units and they're not sure how to separate it? I'll have a look on ukmix again when I get home, but that's what I remember seeing on there.

Mother needs to do a TikTok like that twice a day for a month and the song is back in the Top 10.

The Fame was certified 6X platinum while The Fame Monster got 5x. All happened in 2020 so idk. 1.5M units in 4 years? seems a bit low

BTW got 4x platinum at same time, it's not possible for it to move the same amount of units as TF and TFM combined.
