Disease is so good. Are we shocked tho that it's not massive. It's not exactly digestible and she's done zero promo for it.
Tho I will say it doesn't sound as good as the other snippets we've heard

Sure, Disease isn't smashing, but I think it's been nicely consistent so...

Yup, and it's stayed in the global 200 and gotten more streams in less than 3 week's than an alleged boatmate's lead got in the four months it's been out :eli:

Plus people seem to like it, so here's to hoping it keeps chugging along!

And that's not even counting the 2x platinum certification that it's already eligible for the in USA. I am curious to see how long it takes to hit Diamond in the US.

  • Shallow took around 4.5-5 years to be eligible
  • Poker Face took about 7 years (though it's moving over 1 million units a year in the US at this point. It could very well hit 2x Diamond by the end of the decade).
  • Bad Romance took around 7 years according to the source date on Wikipedia.
  • Just Dance took over 13 years to be eligible (though they certified it at 11x plat so we don't actually know how long it took to hit 10x).

DWAS is bigger than Shallow was at this point. Maybe it's a little too premature, but based on its performance, it could very well become her fifth Diamond song in the US. I think it will hit 3x plat eligible by the end of the year, and then we'll see how it goes from there.

If anyone is interested in how Disease is performing on Spotify Global vs Stupid Love -

Spoiler

Stupid-Love-vs-Disease.png

For people saying that Stupid Love was riding the coattails of ASIB... I mean, if the difference between the success of ASIB and the tankery of JFAD is only 5M streams, I'll take it. I think it only looks like it's doing terribly because of the position on the chart. :gaycat5:

i know the competition is huge, but i wonder how high it can go at the Billboard Decade End Chart :celestial5: 20+ weeks in the Top 10 seems possible so far so the potential is there

It may be harder since songs that get in the top 10 seem to stay there for longer. But the fact that it's just now peaking in its 11th/12th week and it's still near the top of the chart bodes well for its chances. Since radio moves at a snail's pace and it's still doing excellent on streaming, I think it'll ultimately be competitive.

Having multiple diamond smashes spread out across 16 years is such a flex :gaygacat4:especially when two of them (Shallow and DWAS) came out after her career hit the 10 year mark. And Poker Face is still moving over 1 million units in the US per year. Not to mention The Fame is at or near 10x plat status as well. Hurry up and update her certs @ Intershit

Crazy to think she has two of the biggest Female/Male collabs of all times.

Do you guys think DWAS will outdo Shallow at the long run ? I feel like Shallow will do better at the long long run since it has the movie attachted to it.

This is so interesting considering Disease is a much better song. I guess Love 4 Sale / Harelquin really did kill the fanbase.

I honestly think it will. It's already pacing higher than Shallow was at this point (though Shallow's imperial era kicked into high gear due to the Oscars performance). It's spent more weeks in the top 10 of the H100 (12) than Shallow did total (7). Radio moves slower now than it did in 2019, so I think DWAS will be held up there for longer. Shallow never actually topped Spotify Global whereas DWAS has done so for 65 days and counting. And with Bruno touring now and Gaga presumably touring next year, I think that'll keep the momentum behind the song going for a while (a Grammy performance may also give it some additional legs). It's crazy because when Shallow's smashing was playing out in real time, I was shocked that we were actually getting a song that was a Poker Face/Bad Romance-sized smash when her career hit the 10 year mark. Now that's playing out again, except the song in question is even bigger

DWAS is certainly bigger out of the gate. I think it will be. Methinks it gonna be doing a longterm residency in the top ten practically everywhere.
