Interscope heard it and for whatever reason, they weren't super pleased with it. Thus, she was forced to make Die With a Smile as a guaranteed smash. This obviously delayed the rollout for LG7. LG7 was completed in May. By the time she was in Paris, the mixing and mastering were already underway, meaning the final version of LG7 had been approved. Andrew was already busy in June touring with Pearl Jam and producing for Osborne 2

Yeah I'm starting to think that she felt she HAD to release something from LG7 this year because of the LG7 GAGA RETURNS ending of the TCB film. I can't imagine the meltdowns in here if we only got DWAS, JFAD and Harlequin this year. I do feel like she needs to do a little bit more with Disease promo, but I'm not writing her off just yet as I think she does have a lot planned for 2025.

I get what you're saying, but… are we really certain that "the era is starting in January"? Even if the album drops on February 28, with things like the Super Bowl (since Kendrick is on Interscope) and the inauguration in January, we would have only a month of "era"—it's like starting and ending at the same time. If this was the plan, what was the point of releasing and then seemingly abandoning the lead single five months prior? I understand the "fans would riot" angle, but that's not on us. They had years to plan this rollout; even Harlequin had a more coordinated rollout, and that album was only wrapped up in Vegas this summer! 3 1

Nope, I'm not certain or confident on anything at this point, I just want to give her the benefit of the doubt that she hasn't already abandoned LG7 before it's even started. Let's all pray we will EAT in 2025. 1 1 2

But I don't think the songs around then were doing DWAS numbers and apparently the Christmas songs are tracking lower than they were this time last year. 48 minutes ago, Hair said: That would be insane tbh, and never say never. I could see it still pulling about 8M+ throughout December. Last year greedy managed to stay in the Top 10 throughout December, with the exception of Christmas Day and the couple of days before it. Averaged about 5M daily streams, which was pretty much the standard for it throughout October and November too. Hoping Miss DWAS is THAT B*TCH this year. I think I've gotten so used to seeing 10 million+ daily updates that I forget just how crazy it is that it's been pulling that number for 63 days. Like it's become one of the biggest hits of the year (and of the decade). So it may fare better since it's pulling such high numbers. And I hope it does; I want DWAS to rack up as many days at #1 on Spotify global as possible 2

Kendrick's impact will only last a couple of days so I don't see the problem with her releasing in February. Trump's inauguration is in January and his last one in 2016 didn't prevent the Super Bowl or Formation from happening and we were all already talking about other things a couple of days after it.

SmittenCake Posted November 9 Posted November 9 she sounds SO ******* PEACEFUL im reminded of the Marry The Night monologue god i love this ***** 1
Doctor Dick Posted November 9 Posted November 9 It's the way Disease is completely the definition of a buzz single. It made the fanbase hyped and did nothing else. 1
anastaciabby Posted November 9 Posted November 9 this base is more exhausting than the election thread The way y'all hate gaga more than people hate trump 2

And not gonna lie, I would love her to start a series of videos where she talks about her discography, it would be a collapse 4

Doctor Dick Posted November 9 Posted November 9 (edited) Disease had one of the biggest decreases of yesterday which is not a good sign. Let's hope radio takes off but besides that it got the fanbase buzzin' and haters cussin' so we're good. Either release a promo single this month or do a second single in January. Waiting until February is off the table as it will derail the whole anticipation and era. From the snippet in the video something tells me Bobby and co. are planning to release Dance in the Shadow of the Night as the second official single (the snippet in the video and the snippet at the end of the Chromatica film is the same melody, listen to the synth) but is it a strong enough melody? She shouldn't scrap the era at all or re-work it because that's just lame. Edited November 9 by Doctor Dick
