But really we should let go of charts. Maybe if she delivers a pop ballad album she'd find chart sucess again but with this sound i dont think it will do much on charts. 

Work the album as a whole, promote different songs all at once idk one might click in the end. All I really wanted was a entertaining era, with promo, interviews, performances, mvs.

Disease's update tomorrow will be the final showcase to determine if it's on its way OUT or can serve longevity. Its decrease today was expected because of the Sunday update and the decrease wasn't as bad as it could be as songs can fall in the 10%-15% decrease BUT if it doesn't rise tomorrow when most songs are expected to then it's pretty doomed. And I say this loving the song regardless of its chart performance. 

 

And in regards to its Hot 100 debut, it can rise but even if it doesn't maybe this is her Dirrty/Me Against the Music where the second single could be her Beautiful/Toxic. If the song doesn't reach hit status or at least moderate I think she should release the second single ASAP and beginning of January at the latest because if she waits until the album drops the album will lose momentum. So tomorrow's update is pretty important.

And sorry to be a downer but her team has been winging it a lot since Chromatica. They also reacted too late when Bloody Mary went viral and now with DWAS they realized too late it had a chance to go no.1. I had faith in them this time, that they learned after the backlash from fans and Gaga's damage control posts (2 now: Nurtgate and "there's A LOT more coming" for LG7), but they keep doing this amateur stuff only when it comes to her pop rollouts.

When it comes to the GP I feel like Gaga hit a wall in regards to her image post-ARTPOP. The fans want DarkGa but the GP wants BalladGa. The fans want CrazyGa while the GP is here for her when she's blonde and sings ballads and even that can be a hit and miss. It's kinda a split personality for her. Whereas other acts stay safe or continue with risks but not too far off from their regular image Gaga has gone DRASTICALLY different from ARTPOP when she did Joanne and ASIB. And what is the middle ground here? That's a tough business decision. A less crazy DarkGa with more adult contemporary sound? No because that would alienate us. She's in a weird position. She's still super famous and for the GP super relevant because ask anyone and they'll go "oh I love her latest with Bruno" so she's still active in that sense but the GP isn't her core audience and her core audience isn't the GP. 

 

She needs to go safer with her second single, go more commercially friendly but not too much to not alienate her fanbase.

It looks amazing though! Kamala's advance team always gets it right with the staging, lighting, etc.

I would've loved a #1 peak for DWAS, but at least Interscope tried this time, so it just wasn't meant to be (yet). Anyway, Die With a Smile is now projected to be #8 on the IFPI Global Singles 2024 chart, which is far more impressive and rare than a #1 in the US. If the song indeed makes the top 10, it would be her 7th song to do so (after Just Dance, Poker Face, Bad Romance, Telephone, Born This Way and Shallow), and she would share the record for the most entries with Bruno Mars! How lovely would that be?

DWAS not hitting #1 in the US is so lame and it's not the fans' fault at all. The way BBH100 points are calculated is absurd considering a song that spent a month at #1 on Spotify has not yet topped the main chart
