Gags (like many fans) probably thinks that releasing a sped up version cheapens her artistic integrity or something. Which I kinda get it, but I don't really agree.

I hate this argument. Sped up versions will hurt her artistic integrity but bombardizing us with Haus Labs and Nurtec pills ads wont hurt her artistic integrity?

Its so frustrating. She released so many masterpieces "recently" like Always Remember Us This Way , she had a MASSIVE viral hit aka Bloody Mary, all these songs could be easily #1 on BB100 for weeks if her team just made simple clever moves. But no, she and her team are so incapable of doing even the most simple things that they just let these songs die. On contrary , she terrorized her fans and the GP with making Stupid Love the lead single and posting countless Haus Rats and Nurtec pills ads.

I wouldn't mind if for LG8 in 2030 Gaga released a cute glam rock meets electroclash album going back to her real roots in pop music aka Retro Physical, Sexy Ugly, The Fame etc

Well if she needs a decade to make an album maybe the 'she's lost her passion' crowd is right :suburban:

Do we think Gar would ever take a similar approach and not release singles? If for whatever reason she wanted to drop a studio album before JFAD, a single-less album with a one time drop and one time promo blitz could work.

I doubt it. Her team has always been rather old school in promo tactics and award campaigns. I also don't like the idea of no singles in general.

I mean yeah it does look kinda cheap but it's just silly for her team to not claim ~5M consumption units with a sped up version. Cause they literally belong to no one rn

:clack:

Unfortunately, there's nothing they can do now. It's not an issue of "claiming" it — those units happened already but will go to no one since they were from unofficial sources.

This actually happens with every popular song to some extent (see those ARUTW edits/lyric videos on YouTube with hundreds of millions of views each), but is mostly mitigated by an official upload/release, which the most popular version of Bloody Mary just didn't get unfortunately. :katie:

The saddest part to me is this was an easy smash handed to them on a silver platter that involved literally no work from the artist herself — literally all they had to do was speed it up, release it on streaming, and use the same footage Netflix already allowed them to use (see the Spotify canvas for the song) and upload that as the "music video" to YouTube, just like the popular 420M+ viewed upload that continues to get around 400K views a day. Perhaps they wanted to see if the original would blow up on its own, but after a week (hell, even a month) of the unofficial sped up versions gaining more traction, they should have bit the bullet and sprang into action to get an official upload of the sped up version on all platforms.

I usually don't like to criticize her team to the extent many here do, but this was a big, big blunder on their part given how easy it was.

tbh it could be refreshing, seeing as she usually uses lead singles that aren't well received recently (PI - SL)

also she'd def push singles but post album ones

Speaking of #ads...  I saw the new Nurtec one on television last night :rip:  The Edge of Glory sounded cute.

I think dropping the lead the same day as the album could be a smart move. Depending on when she releases, the Joker hype would help boost interest and as Ms @chosensparkles says if history is any indication a single would only kill the momentum

I've always seen Gar as more of an album artist anyway so I wouldn't care too much if she skipped the singles, just as long as she doesn't announce any more than 6 weeks prior. I'm impatient. :lakitu:

an album artist

It's been 4 years without an album. I can't believe Coronatica was 4 years ago.

I could see her doing one single, but I can't see her doing none at all. And that one single would still be treated as a major push (assuming it's not a totally uncommercial album).
