This could have been one of the factors but not the entire reason, if anything even him in his video claims that HOG entered in Oscars conversation properly because of Gaga hype from ASIB with getting a best actress nom and success in general with the Academy, but most important because she didn't immediate jump in another movie after that but she waited, giving the impression to be picky with movies and that she is choosing carefully what to do in a serious way. I think there was more a sentiment of pettiness in the fact that Gaga was making it seems kind of too easy, nobody has been nominated for the first and second movie consequently. But if she wasn't being taken seriously as actress she wouldn't have won NYFCC and getting SAG-BAFTA nods. Your argument would make more sense in a case she would have missed also those precursors. If anything those precursors prove she has more industry support than a Stewart who missed SAG-BAFTA and her movie all the guilds, having to rely to a small circle of Academy voters who put her #1 on ballot. 12 hours ago, Sannie said: Eh, not buying it. Leptine Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 The Andrea Riseborough nomination out of nowhere because some members were pushing her all of a sudden this year at the expenses of Viola Davis and Danielle Deadwyler who were nominated to all the precursors like Gaga proved what basically happened with Stewart and Cruz, with the difference it was less blatant in those two cases because they were in conversation during the awards season and won some critics awards. 2

TheLastChord Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 The Oscar voting body has always been bit unpredictable by nature, sometimes they end up loving a film that the precursors didn't like or they end up mostly snubbing a film the precursors loved. You guys need to get over the House Of Gucci thing, it was a combo of many things, but mostly the fact that the voting body did NOT vibe with HoG at all, and like, I get it.
