The best way for a song to grow from going viral, is slow and over time. It took unstoppable by Sia 2 years to peak.
BM had a huge peak right out the gate, so looking back it was at risk of doing that

Bloody Mary's peak is still really impressive for a 12-year-old song at the time, and we'll always be able to point to its total and recurrent streams - as well as user generated streams - to validate that it was a huge smash.

Most of Bloody Mary streams weren't counted for charting purposes. Billboard only counts official YT uploads for their charting so all the sped up uploaded versions didn't count (Bloody Mary was the most streamed song in H1 2023 but a lot of those streams didn't count). For example, this video has 348M views and none of them were counted for the Hot 100.

Because they didn’t release the sped up version officially for whatever reason. It would probably be approaching 1 billion streams on Spotify. It was such a massive misstep
