I would wait until more reviews come in. The tomato isn't even red yet as it's only based on 2 reviews, which is not enough.

True! I haven't read any yet.

Hopefully, more come in. I'm intrigued!

Halftime - SPOILER ALERT!!!

giphy.gif

  1. While the documentary was very insightful and lets you see not only that she works so hard but HOW; in a sense that she it takes you back and forth from the hustler’s promo to the super bowl rehearsals, it feels rushed at the beginning which my bet is due to cutting all the Arod scenes out. [This is about the Super Bowl, her most important performance ever as a singer but we didn't even get to see how she reacted when she got it. The fans know it is due to Arod being there.]

2.       I love how Benny was the one to call out the NFL first - "Typically, you have one headliner at a Super Bowl. That headliner constructs a show, and, should they choose to have other guests, that's their choice," Medina says. "It was an insult to say you needed two Latinas to do the job that one artist historically has done."

  1. Given that they both can headline their own Halftime show; it is also not said but VERY clear that they added Shakira after Jay-Z's involvement and I love how they showed him while all this was going down. Jennifer being mad and upset was also good to see and the way she orchestrated this show is amazing, they show Shakira's willingness to collaborate and Jennifer telling her "I know that the Super Bowl people want us to be weaved throughout the show. I haven't had a confirmation about how many minutes I'm going to have," Shakira tells Lopez, who responds: "No baby let me address that really quick. They said 12 minutes. I got kind of a good confirmation that we could have an extra minute or two, so now we're at, like, 13, 14 minutes. I think, Shakira, what we should have is you should have half the time and I should [have half].""If it was going to be a double-headliner, they should have given us 20 minutes," Lopez finishes. "That's what they should've f---ing done." It was very clear Shakira was not the problem and Jennifer understood that. - I'll dare say would have Jennifer accepted an offer to perform given Shakira's first choice involvement, I don't think so due to the fact that she would understand the importance of her legacy and the other performer and the respect as a headliner but Shakira & her team agreed to do so and we can't knock them down given this is one in a lifetime opportunity for ANY Latin artist in the USA given the crucial time it was happening.

  1. Btw, anyone saying that JLO told Shakira:

o    Shakira: "I don't want to perform Born in the U.S.A. I wasn't born in the U.S.A.
J.Lo: "Well, you come here and you perform here, right?"

o    Is wrong – She made that comment to Benny I think after she hung up the phone and it was not defamatory it was more explaining from the point she is coming from. Don’t engage in the negative media narrative.

  1. Y'all be surprised at how strong willed, dedicated, focused and also hopeful, youthful and loving she is. She takes her craft serious. I was surprised she was the one comforting Benny & Elaine after the Golden Globes snub given you would have thought it would be the other way around given what the media puts out here, and to anyone surprise if you are waiting for a "I'm crying & devastated" due to my Oscar snub; you're in for a shock when you see she was crying due to the RAVE REVIEWS she was getting from Hustlers; very reflecting of her life when we think something is happening due to a 5 second video and you come to find out it is the complete opposite.

  1. Anyone who says she doesn't embrace her roots enough or is not Latina or doesn't care for the culture enough is completed and utterly blinded. This woman carries her PR / Bronx flag everywhere.

  1. She completely understands where she and Shakira differentiate but also can be the same. Her being a Latina from Barranquilla, Colombia and Jennifer being born in the USA with deeply Latin roots and showcasing that was very important for Jennifer.

  1. I love how it was not focused at all on her personal love life. This might be the first thing I see from her where her love and personal life other than her upbringing, family and children is not involved. Loved it.

  1. Amazing how the night before the Halftime the higher ups wanted to remove the cages and she was like "Listen Benny do what you have to do but I am not changing my show” which makes me wonder if due to the cage’s representation is why she got chosen to sing at the presidential inauguration. Visionary QUEEN.

  1. Overall, the documentary felt like a small capsule of thoughts and moments leading up to the Halftime show. It is crazy how much she did with only half of the time and how in the long run she has carried and viewed as the Halftime show headliner of the 2020 Super Bowl. [Sorry Shakira] - I can only imagine what she would have done with the full timeslot. She truly was like "No ***** yes you deserve BUT this is MY SHOW".

  1. One thing that is clear is how much scrutiny, hate, racism and disrespect the media throughout the years have shown her. From Jimmy Kimmel to South Park to Conan O'Brien portraying her as a maid next to Ben Affleck to SO MUCH NASTINESS. I am so sorry Jennifer that just because of your ethnicity, skin color and race you have to face all this. I deal with that myself every day and it leads you to truly hate yourself if you let it. Sometimes (most of the times) it is your own people who do this to you.

  1. On another note: I feel like she didn't like any of her looks for the Hustlers Awards season or maybe deep down she knew she wasn't going to get nothing and that it was pointless. I wonder if she ever campaigns again as she did regardless of how well received is the material at the time. It broke my heart how the whole team was watching the GG and was so sure she was going to win and then it did happen. Reminded of when she was trying the Golden Globe outfit and was like "You for sure don't want to lose in this dress" and when she said that the crowd was like "Damn".

  1. I am happy she didn't bash anyone or came after no one which makes the documentary timeless because regardless of the time passed you can always watch it back and blame the NFL and not anyone else.

  1. Lowkey, I felt like I wanted a more depth insight looks at her thoughts and feelings in regards her life choices and to tackle certain topics directly. There is no saying about the music fiasco with Tommy M, Ashanti or Mariah. Not a mention of the hate she gets online or the "she can't sing" bandwagon (other than the Jimmy Kimmel reference) but that could be just me wanting drama. She kept it cute and paid dust to those topics. It was more like "Look, this is what they say about me" "You see this? This is what I do and I am not going to stop". I don't get why they still till this day claim she has sold 80 million records. They need to update that ****.
