I think the sound changed as they went along. I remember Ian saying in a livechat (in 2020 I believe) that the album was less disco and more funk, but then later on the messages came out that it was sonically different from FN, then Danny L Harle came along, and now the 90s rave rumors... This album probably changed a lot from what it initially started out as.

She spent entire past 3 years working  Stop being ******* entitled. FN is still fresh and the album is still in top 10 most streamed on Spotify daily, people can clearly wait more and so can you. There is no need for new music just yet especially since she is still on tour with the album.

 

She started working on FN in January 2018 and later spent entire 2019 writing and recording nearly every day. Now she haven’t had time to create even 1/10 of the material she made during FN sessions so far.

 

In far more important news, she just performed her biggest solo show ever  I am so proud of her, wish she was able to add Asian leg

A lot of FN rejects should have made the tracklisting (or atleast the Moonlight edition's tracklisting) though.

I agree and I think it would be a bad move to immediately release new music after the tour ends. I might be living in a bubble but I feel like she's so exposed right now... immediately starting a new rollout wouldn't really be ideal. We can wait a while. Especially since Olivia, Billie and Doja are all likely to release next year as well

I'm torn about new music dropping by the end of the year. I will gladly wait 'til end of 2023 even, but I'm also worried about her... age. And that she still only has two studio albums. I don't want another long ass era. She also needs to cut down on the nonsensical collabs that lowkey ruin her discog.

I really do think DL1 should have been released in 2016 with a second album in 2018 to kinda even out the releases. DL1 had far too much good material for it to all be one album. 7 years and 2 albums just kinda looks bad on her resumé

And she had to go through the process of making those 100 duds across 100 sessions with 100 different producers to find FN's true sound and select 10 gems among them to create a cohesive top notch album. It didn't just magically pop up in one successful session.

 

Not to mention that these are some recent releases from those "top producers in the industry" or people behind Future Nostalgia:

Yeah, I'm most curious about how the album will sound than wanting it to be released like early next year. She needs to take and a rest and also have the necessary time to make the incredible album we know she's capable to deliver. I'll be satisfied with like two random singles/features next year and the lead late 2023/early 2024.
