THIS track is not the track you come back with to relaunch the era especially after Hot ish. This is the song you put out in May so it can heat up summer. Most summer songs debut right before summer. Bongos does not offer anything new content wise. We don't care about her body parts. WAP was a one off. Cardi has a lot of content to pull from so coming back with another superficial content song would have only worked AFTER Up or WAP for that matter but not a year after Hot ish. this explains why she had to get product placement to comp part of the $2M fee and why Atlantic was not sold on shelling out all of the money. I'm sure Atlantic would have if this was released three months after WAP or Up, though. If Cardi/Atlantic releases one more song that is not content driven or without a hook, then the plot is officially lost. That said, I think it's clear now. I chuckle at the way tik tok loves Bongos. Should have been released in May right after the Met gala era and she could have performed it at summer jam.
