Sadly, you mix misogyny (in general and in genre) + the desire for all types of people to watch two women of color go at it will always be there. No matter what, Cardi created a cultural reset and brought it back to multiple female rappers dominating simultaneously for multiple years. There is no longer a monopoly and it's known and even worse anyone who wished they had the true power to make the decision on how stays or goes will always be reminded that it is untrue as long as Cardi continues success which is why it's already checkmate. Cardi's in her 6th year of consecutive success and has already branded herself into multiple successful ventures on the low...wait until she pushes it up a new level. Some of the cardi stans get caught up in the low brow shenanigans but Cardi's influence, impact, and ability to achieve things much quicker and longer are already the battle wins. If she ever releases CB2 LOL, succeeds, has a successful world tour, brands more products and bags more endorsements, then ventures into movies/films and more fashion...then it truly because a major Cardi design outline thanks to her influences Lil Kim, Beyonce and Rihanna. I think the female rappers (I haven't yet heard any great material this year yet) but are going to do their best and put out some good material at this point in the year...hasn't happened yet but I'm hopeful.
