It's annoying me how every major outlet is referring to it as Renaissance Act II. But honestly if it really is a renaissance of different genres, it would've made sense to call them Renaissance Act I, Renaissance Act II, and Renaissance Act III.

The problem with that is they seem to have anticipated the confusion and clearly marketed it as Act I: Renaissance, which implies Act II will have a different name. But people I know already think it's called Renaissance Act II because the way it's being reported on.

I agree.

I think all will be fine with the imminent title+cover reveal, which will probably come with the ever-rare "personal note" from her explaining the concept of the record and its inspiration.

In the absence of traditional promo, I've clocked with Bey that the simplest things (like a title and a cover) are drip-fed to maximum effect. Not to say it's some kind of genius move, but they have 6ish weeks to play with between now and release, so using the Rennie roll-out as the template, she'll get a fresh wave of buzz with the next set of reveals.

Much as I want them to take the best bits of the Rennie launch, I do want to see a more aggressive retail push.

Act II will not have the "Beyonce's back after six years' curiosity narrative, not to mention some of the Hive I've seen mentioning that they are "sitting this one out' because it's Country.

TBH, the latter doesn't matter if they rope in a broader audience (Becky and co!).

But Imma need sis to meet Becky and co where they are. Use the Amazon connect to have an "exclusive" edition there. Bring back the merch boxes, have multiple vinyl and CD covers ready to roll.

If this Sphere thing is true, they need to make the girls pre-order the album for "access" to the pre-sale, something I think Billboard still allow in a post-bundling world.

Say what y'all will about the Rennie era, the pre-launch activity was encouraging af. Like, it legit excited me to see her team playing ball in the context of what her peers are doing.

For an act like Bey at this age and stage, not only are total surprise drops kinda played out, they actually wouldn't work for her. Her audience is older and aren't streamers in the Drake, Kanye, Taylor, Ariana way. And even those pre-announce.

In short, I want Bey to do all the things.

I'm confused why the album isn't on pre-order yet. I swear we we were able to pre-order Renaissance on her site before BMS came out?

Yes, we were. Album preorders went up on June 16th. BMS was released on June 20th.

I’m hoping by Friday that she will put the album up for pre-order

It won't happen, but imagine she performed Texas Hold Em live with live instruments (and a fiddle added) with a line-dance breakdown (that goes viral on tiktok) with knee-high cowboy boots.. yup

Lipstick Alley for example.

They post some of the most vile stuff about Beyoncé and other black women. And they would probably give ATRL a run for its money on pure hatred alone. You would think a website that has a larger black presence would be more uplifting to someone like Beyoncé but it’s quite the opposite. As the saying goes it’s always our own. :rip:

Put that aside when it comes to Beyoncé and her music they always get it wrong. Renaissance was a huge wake up call for them. They were so convinced she would flop and it was a success on all fronts. If it was up to them she would be stuck making Dangerously In Love 8 times by now. :coffee2:

It was Amazon Italy I believe, they had posted sumn about Renaissance when it was announced via vogue interview and the it would be 3 projects (dance, country and rock)....that info was later removed.....lemme see if I can find a link

I think it was Variety who mentioned it first, like a month before Vogue Italy did.

In an ideal world she'd drop a video with album pre-order. I think that would be a massive boost because people are hungry for Beyonce videos.

But I truly don't think we'll get any videos until the full visual is released, whenever that may be.

I want her to premiere a film in theaters on March 29th. The demand would be even greater than the Renaissance concert film.

I said I won't ever comment here but what you said is all wrong. Every artist there gets there their fair share of criticisms and actually Bey is one of the most adored artists there

Y’all think she’s gonna be as naked as she was on the Renaissance album cover for Act II?

This is such a lie though lmao.  They absolutely hate her over there. When something positive happens regarding her, here come the negative threads about her that trend after only 10 posts.

She will announce pre-orders along with the title+album cover reveal in 2 weeks.

well she already is with that Texas Hold Em cover :clack:

Its one of my least faves tbh, I get the  body positivity and sexual liberation path she lives but it's really cringe to be looking down and almost seeing mothers coochie on the TEXAS HOLD 'EM single cover......I am still not a fan of the outfit she used on the Renny cover either.....though I get the Lady Godiva reference...

I think she should incorporate more fashion in her covers/single arts.....does nudity really apply to every aesthetic?

À huge lie.

Spoiler

I stumbled on that rats' nest after Whitney's death, Whitney and Bey had the two biggest threads there, I have never online read more vile and inhumane comments about Whitney in my whole life. Beyoncé's threads were just as vile.

Then Kanye got with Kim and comments were about how they wish and would laugh if their kids came out looking black... from black women. A vile place. I never stepped foot there after going through a couple pages of the main Whitney's thread.

You talking LSA girl?

They have a HUGE Bey Stan audience over there, while many members don't like her she also has a ton of fans.

act ii already has a different font......hmmm wonder if RED is gonna be the colour for this album

it could be!

those three pics from the VOGUE UK where she's 1) on the disco ball 2) on the horse and 3) on the motorcycle have been stated to allude to the three types of music in the acts, and the one on the horse is overlaid with red.

Plus the opening tour outfit in red hmmm, even though this might just be to align with Verizon's company colour :ryan3:

I think she's already in a better place than she was pre-RENAISSANCE though, as she's now firmly "returned" to music and radio and the charts. She's had a recent hit tour, a hit film, and still has a sort of "what's next?" mystery about things that puts her at a sort of advantage more than she had after releasing two (dare I say flop) side projects. Plus the abrupt genre switch is immediately a narrative of its own, and like you said though some fans denounce the genre, a great many more casual ones are being welcomed into this project.
