OP: we desparately need re-recordings from their hits. I can't listen to any of these tracks without alternating to the add-libs and superior vocals Beyonce later put on them once she went solo. Not only are they all vocally much stronger, the production quality of their old stuff is very basic

I only think this applies to the Christmas album. Debut was typical adult R&B/UAC for the time (and a lot of it has aged better than later songs), TWOTW was very current comemporary r&b at the time.

 

Survivor and Christmas are a mixed bag, some of the productions have aged horribly, but the more classic stuff, "Emotions", "Opera of the Bells" for instance have aged well. Bey's "Silent Night" is one of my fav vocals of her's ever 

 

I feel Destiny Fulfillled has aged best. The simple, sample-heavy productions are timeless.

 

I wish Michelle would re-record O Holy Night. She's grown so much since.
