I wonder how Malibu will hold up and if Camila or Selena will be threats. This could Selena's huge era if she plays her cards right. She's riding off 6 big top 10 hits (THWWIW, GFY, SOL, HTM, WDTA, & IAM) I'm not going to play down those 6 Top 10s because don't get me wrong, it is very impressive. But I don't feel like any of them were in any way big. They all peaked in the 5-10 region. Selena has yet to produce an actual smash hit in her entire career. This lead single is pretty important for her imo.

It seems Despacito and/or ITO will be number one for quite awhile tho so I'm sure that will change soon. Britney Spears has 5 number ones with a combined 6 weeks at number one

I'm so here for more Spanish songs smashing in the US, I just wish the ones that do smash weren't such crap that all sound alike Edited May 15, 2017 by PoisonPill

R!ck Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Nice #1 Despacito is one of the biggest latin american hits of all-time.
Taffyz Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 The real tragedy is that better songs Me Rehuso and Andas en Mi Cabeza were not as successful...americans their lost

None of that has nothing to do why it's #1 in America. "Fake Spanish" . Jesus Christ. I hate the song but King. Should've been Chantaje. 3 hours ago, Inverted said: Why are people saying it didn't deserve #1? The remix is at #1 on iTunes and the original is #19. It's outselling everyone. ITO should return. 2 hours ago, legendaya_SSLP said: Chainsmokers streak in jeopardy i highly doubt Young will become a huge hit. Yeah. The album is trash (I do love It Won't Kill Ya, but doesn't sound like a smash). Who knows, though. T40/Rhythmic will definitely force Young up and the BBMAs might ignite it enough to do something. So I think it's Billboard's way of avoiding debut songs paid radio deals from tracking in their first full week of sales and streaming. Makes sense to me. That has absolutely nothing to do with it. As already mentioned it's just that sales and streaming takes a couple of days to compile the data and radio is available immediately. So they take the newest radio numbers.
Rihorse#1fan Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Justin recorded Despacito in Bogota, we and our global power
simmnfierzig Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Doesn't seem like there will be much movement next week. Despacito will certainly stay at #1, Malibu is really closer to missing top 10 than I thought before looking at the numbers and Congratulations has a good shot of going top 10.

Yes the album was such a disappointment for me Young was one of my least favorite songs on it, and I think it has the most cringeworthy lyrics of any of their songs.
