No, I do not have a problem with Christina experimenting latin sounds regardless of how much you seem to believe I do. In fact, I made a couple of positive posts about Santo in it's music thread here on ATRL some weeks ago. American stans like yourself being ignorant about Latam music, culture and heritage is what bothered me. 

 

You keep on that tired "You have a problem with her making latin music!!!", "you're crying over cultural appropriation!!" or "why can't she do this or that??" note every single time. No, you being upset because I factually explained why those particular latin music genres aren't a part of Christina's "heritage" - which is my point - is what actually started this discourse. You clearly don't have the knowledge and depth to discuss latinidad so please stop deflecting and throwing words until it sticks.

 

For someone that claims to have a probably with "SJWs" and people being "emotional" while discussing a topic, you seem to base your talking points on assumptions A LOT. Your last paragraph has zero to do with any of my posts you quoted. I literally mentioned cultural appropriation and sjw once but thats obviously what you latch onto while selectively ignoring what I had to say about ranchera being a music genre that is not currently dominating latin radio airwaves. If she "wanted" La Fuerza to chart, then she would have released 6 reggae songs, not ranchera or guaracha. I'm not saying you ignored La Reina, I'm saying you ignored that it is part of a genre that is not a popular "trend" the way reggae is and yet Xtina did a ranchera song. Your reading comprehension skills. Yikes. I only brought up my Asian ancestry because its a very easy to comprehend parallel. Do I need to explain the concept of using an analogous scenario or parallel to illustrate a point to you as well? Its so stupid how you keep bringing up the fact that Latin culture isnt a monolith but fail to recognize that it is a huge umbrella and Xtina's heritage falls under that umbrella. At the end of the day, if this is how Xtina feels connected to her heritage, thats personal. If you dont connect with your Latin side by looking at the culture of other nationalities/ethnicities under the Latin umbrella, that's a you problem sweetheart.

He literally looks like a white man tanned, if he had indeed black heritage Christina and her sister would have some latino resemblance but both are the epitome of white women, of course they're latinas, we're not denying her roots, but they're white just like a million other white latinos in SA, and that's absolutely fine, pretending she's anything else other than that is quite delusional. That is literally the dumbest interpretation of my post about Xtina’s right to release a Spanish album and it’s so clear you chose to find an “implication of connecting skin tone to singing in Spanish” just to fake clutch your pearls.

I think streams need to have a higher weight in the future for BB charts. Especially since there’s less and less physical releases. Most new cars don’t even hav CD players. Streaming is still the future and should have that represented on the charts.

Yikes at the gatekeeping vibes of “her family is Hispanic and therefore she has every right to sing in Spanish” as if half of the world hasn’t learned some Spanish on Duolingo.

 

My non-Hispanic boyfriend speaks more Spanish than I do cause he watched Rebelde Way and Chiquititas when he was little and a few years ago he went to South America for 3 months to do drugs with his friends. Languages are a way to connect people.

You are saying that Xtina has a right to sing  in Spanish because she’s a mixed race person of color!  Anybody can sing in Spanish regardless of their heritage and skin color, there isn’t such thing as a ‘right to sing’ you let this conversation derailed and become such a mess when you brought up ethnicity and skin color into a charts conversation and yes! So just because some yt ppl are ignorant about the difference between China vs SK, I’m not allowed to feel any connection at all to koreans even though we share the same types of struggles and face the same stereotypes and racism in America, okay

I certainly haven't said any of those things?. That's like saying Shakira nor Maluma or even J Balvin can't sing in English because they're latinos, or that they couldn't use afrocolombian rhythms because they're white. Race nor skin color has anything to with language and you have certainly become quite rude whilst failing to prove an already dismissed and baseless argument that Christina is a person of color. She is part latina and she's also white, both facts can COEXiST.

I never said you did but that’s what happens when you inject yourself into a situation where I was already talking to someone else who was talking about how Christina has no right to do a reggae and ranchera song for La Fuerza and essentially attributed her not charting to her doing a ranchera song.
