HAPPIER THAN EVER - BILLIE EILISH despite all of the attempts to question, slander and dispose of billie, i can proudly say that i'm glad that i started to stick up for her. from the very moment we got the HTE snippet, i was immensely excited to see where billie would go next. happier than ever is a mature, adventurous record that sees billie play with sounds she mastered on her juggernaut debut but also try her hand at different genres, some of which she should delve deeper in. billie's always had a personality however this album screams BILLIE to me. i've learned so much about her relationship history, her mental health and thoughts on fame and its all been intriguing at the least. as genre-bouncing(?) as this record is, there's is a lingering cohesion that ties all sixteen songs into an exquisite assortment of odes to various emotions and experiences. this is no doubt her best work yet and i'm excited to see where she goes next. she went from an artist comparable to lorde and lana to almost a younger, mainstream companion to that of st. vincent (IN MY OPINION) ! they're both talented artists that lie in between alternative and pop so i would love to see a collab of sorts between them. top tracks: billie bossa nova, overheated, everybody dies genre: alternative-pop, electropop Gorgeous write-up and top tracks omg, I also adore Overheated & Everybody Dies although I fear they're the least popular on the album from what I've seen i see u!! Loved your picks overall babe, Erika at #1 is a v respectable choice go awf

And I am LOVING the high ranking for Still Over It It’s a classic on arrival! The way she made a long ass album like that with barely any skips i love montero but it takes time for me to go back and stream because some of the songs hit too close to home and yess, summer did that On 12/22/2021 at 12:24 AM, TRF. said: Erika YESSSSS queen of electronic On 12/22/2021 at 12:55 AM, Ewan Chaos said: Totally agree with your write-up on Billie. Whoa interesting comparison to St. Vincent. As much as it's NOT fair to compare Billie to this person... I almost wanna compare her more to a lesser version of Fiona? Not to downgrade Billie, but c'mon it's Fiona. 2 albums I need to check out, 1 I probably won't like, and your number one, OH YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!! Love to see you enjoying the album in a time that was matched your personal life too, always special when that happens. And Insult Me, yeah!!!! Underrated track for sure! nnn i do get the fiona comparison too not you serving taste with the sensational bit On 12/22/2021 at 5:17 AM, Tinashegrande6 said: Joy Crookes has some really nice tracks, but I haven't heard her full album yet. worldwide angel Posted December 29, 2021 Author Posted December 29, 2021 XXV. LALISA - LISA this song is the definition of a grower imo. i initially preferred money over lalegend however when the debut track from lisa's solo clicked, it clicked. in typical daddy teddy fashion, the production is wonky and chaotic which can get reductive but with lalisa, the track veers into a cute and bubbly atmosphere before turning towards a dense, and bombastic instrumental, complimenting the multiple sides of lalegend
worldwide angel Posted December 29, 2021 Author Posted December 29, 2021 XXIV. DEJA VU - OLIVIA RODRIGO sour was a decent debut to me but deja vu would be the shining jewel of the album. it's a bit more poppier compared to the other tracks so, it's kind of a given. the sugary instrumental is irresistible, teasing listeners with an ice cream-like jingle before hitting them with a subdued roar. we also can't ignore the phenomenal lyrics. like fave, like stan indeed! her songwriting helps create a dreamy atmosphere while lashing out over the eventual dissolution of her relationship.
worldwide angel Posted December 29, 2021 Author Posted December 29, 2021 XXIII. t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l - WILLOW 2021 was kind of the year of willow and i can't be any happier. after dropping a slew of alternative projects and genre-bending collaborations, willow enlists travis barker to kick off the pop-punk revival that dominated the internet this summer. i got the same feeling with willow as i did with miley. two childhood icons finding the perfect sound for them and excelling! everything from the voice to the image and branding just fit so well and the end result was a serve and a half!
worldwide angel Posted December 29, 2021 Author Posted December 29, 2021 XXII. STEREOTYPE - STAYC as soon as i thought that the disco-influenced pop trend was on its way out, stayc came through the door swinging and showed the girls just how to drop a quality track! the production is exciting throughout the entirety of the song and the girls sound great in a perfect world, this would have been a worldwide radio smash!
worldwide angel Posted December 29, 2021 Author Posted December 29, 2021 XXI. GONNA BLEACH MY EYEBROWS - ALEMEDA i discovered this gem on twitter and the ethiopian + arizona based musician delivered a dreamy bop that is very reminiscent of the recent uk garage trend propelled by artists like pinkpantheress and erika de casier. i wholly recommend you listen to the song, then watch the music video to get your life!
worldwide angel Posted December 30, 2021 Author Posted December 30, 2021 XX. STABILISE - NILUFER YANYA british queen of indie rock (yeah i said it.) nilufer yanya has yet to fail me and with stabilise, she's got me waiting every single second for the next single and eventually the album due in march. the mellow, guitar-led track discusses the impacts of her environment on herself, successfully building on some of the themes introduced in miss universe.
Sunderland 4ever Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 Nilüfer Yanya and Olivia Rodrigo's albums
Lazuli Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 not lalisa deja vu best song on the album indeed! stereotype >>> asap stabilise is kinda cute! not really on the level as her debut but still hopeful!
TheWayWeWere Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 Deja vu is one of her best songs probably Transparent Soul

worldwide angel Posted December 30, 2021 Author Posted December 30, 2021 XIX. AMERICAN GURL - KILO KISH kilo kish makes some of the best electronic music out there and it is time that she gets her flowers! american gurl is further proof of the above statement. the groovy yet chaotic beat keeps you hooked alongside the catchy lyrics (in a locked box, in a locked drawer, will you find me, an american gurl ahhhmerican guuuuuuurl )
worldwide angel Posted December 30, 2021 Author Posted December 30, 2021 XVIII. BLUE BANISTERS - LANA DEL REY while lana has yet to see the heights of norman fucking rockwell (yass i can curse now), blue banisters as a single and album come really close. she sounds immensely beautiful here and as a single person who's never been in a relationship, her lyrics still managed to leave me sniffling in my dorm. i just think the themes of heartbreak and friendship explored in this song was nothing short of excellent
worldwide angel Posted December 30, 2021 Author Posted December 30, 2021 XVII. NEW SHAPES - CHARLI XCX now good ones was a serve but the kkkaroline and chrstine assisted new shapes is my personal fave of the two pre-album singles. i think it does a well job at incorporating charli's trademark wonkiness to the 80's inspired production. i need this on a netflix/hulu/hbo max soundtrack stat! overwhelmingly excited for the further janet-jacksonification of charli xcx
worldwide angel Posted December 30, 2021 Author Posted December 30, 2021 XVI. FLOW 2000 - BAD GYAL this track takes me back to the glory days of slow wine and worldwide angel (hiihiii ) and perfectly presents what bad gyal is all about and that is perfect, club bangers. i can't imagine anyone sitting down during this bop.
worldwide angel Posted December 30, 2021 Author Posted December 30, 2021 XV. SHOW ME LOVE - TEAMARRR i got into teamarrr bc of atrl's very own song contest and since then her music has had me in shackles. show me love is nothing more than a fun, upbeat track with clear nods to dancehall and r&b. get into my good sis before she dominates 2022!
worldwide angel Posted December 30, 2021 Author Posted December 30, 2021 XIV. JUST FOR ME - PINKPANTHERESS tik tok's breakout star delivered a lot of classics this year, including the infectious just for me. one thing i really enjoy about pinkpantheress is just how emotive she is on these short tracks. a lot happens in the instrumental but it's nothing but a sweet, catchy tune.
worldwide angel Posted December 30, 2021 Author Posted December 30, 2021 XIII. FOUND - TEMS another queen who made her mark this year, tems dropped her EP if orange was a place and i was eager to get lost in her world. i came out of the experience excited for more and specifically, i really enjoyed the track found with brent faiyaz. their voices fit perfectly on here and while i have yet to get into brent, he sounds breedable lovely on here! if you're in the mood for a calming r&b dream then don't miss out on tems
