The most overrated album and artist of 2021.

I went into this album with high expectations considering how this site and the world adores this woman.

But i'm going to be blunt.

I have no idea how this album received the acclaim it did, but I can only put the blame on success stans. From an album that includes the most mediocre music I've had to endure in a while, the fact that the countless discussions over confirmed and unconfirmed interpolations is a big fat kii. It's very clear she took inspirations from the artists she likes and slapped them on the songs unfiltered. Lorde, Taylor, Paramore etc. you can HEAR it clearly. Unfortunately for Olivia, it's not even close to beating any of the OGs and concluding the album, I'd rather listen to them. It doesn't help that any of her live performances sold it for me either, but rather pushed me in the opposite direction. 

Sooooooo it's my designated duty to make sure there's someone who won't sheepishly acclaim it. I'll take the #1 olivia rodrigo criticizer title if you need me too. 

The only enjoyable song is Favorite Crime. So there's that. 

 

I just hope she branches out with her next album because the potential is there and I do want to like her, she seems like a nice girl.

Despite throwing one of my faves under the bus for a hit song
