Moonlightbae Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 24 Hours, Bouncin, HTE, Good Days and NTK in your top 10! Life Support was really a great debut album for Madison! I played it a lot this year and I can't wait to see what she does next.
Remmy Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 "Infamous for her inability to make a song more than 2 minutes and 30 seconds long," And this is the main reason I can't get into her But I agree she definitely has a bright future ahead of her, that's for sure!
Ewan Chaos Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 Was expecting Jazmine to be higher! Fantastic EP/album/project/whatever the fuck Pink Panther everywhere huh, I'll eventually check her out!
OreGuy Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 let me stay mum this time bc idk these two but Heaux Tales has been on my list for sooooo long seeing it so high on other charts.

Alex Posted December 22, 2021 Author Posted December 22, 2021 Second last update Happier Than Ever is an excellent body of work and my favourite Billie Eilish project so far. I will never understand or forgive whoever decided to lead the album campaign with the three worst songs on the album (Your Power, NDA, Therefore I Am) but shame on them. The rest of the album is indeed excellent and exactly what I needed from Billie. Also I will be a Lost Cause apologist til I die! Tinashe’s second independent triumph post-RCA reminds us of all the experimental moments Tinashe debuted with in the first place. A wide array of sounds and genres, 333 is Tinashe’s most experimental body of work to date, which is probably why some fans were divided on the album. Regardless, I find the album quite amazing and a great balance of both uptempos and downtempos that she can deliver best.

Into The Void Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 On 12/19/2021 at 1:35 PM, dangerousalex said: This was the first Snoh Aalegra album that I actually enjoyed, a lot. Her voice is incredible, the production is gorgeous, and I can’t complain at two(!) Tyler, the Creator collaborations. This album would definitely be used in an argument that R&B won this year. I decided to combine Alina Baraz’s EP series into one post since they compliment each other incredibly well. The tracks sound like a cohesive project when grouped together despite being split into a light + dark EP series. Anyway, the progression from my 2020 Album of the Year, “It Was Divine”, is very apparent here. Baraz’s vocals sound more mature and confident than ever, and smooth as silk as always. The only complaint is that the projects could’ve been at least 2 songs longer! I shall check both of them out
K$Ellie Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 333 is a bit high but it was a great album, HTE was excellent preferred Tkay's 2nd volume but the 3rd wasn't bad at all Madison and PinkPantheress has great albums
Moonlightbae Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 HTE was an excellent album, truly her best 333 is brilliant, I still can't decide if like that or SFY more but it's definitely one of fave albums from this year
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 23, 2021 ATRL Moderator Posted December 23, 2021 now THIS is an update! HTE is an absolutely stunning body of work, Billie really snapped! 333 is also great!
D/X Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 I really couldn't get into Billie's last album. Like the singles were ok, but compared to When We Fall blah blah blah there was a big gap. :(
Pink Matter Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Jazmine PP, great gowns (I have come around to Pain though)
Alex Posted December 23, 2021 Author Posted December 23, 2021 ahhh we made it Summer Walker being one of the only women to deliver long albums with very few skips has remained intact with Still Over It. A complete yin yang in terms of lyrical content from her debut, Summer gets up close and personal for everyone to hear in these songs. The maturity and subject matter in the album only contribute to her ever growing evolution. Still Over It proved Summer Walker is not only one of the top dogs in R&B, but she’s here to stay for a long time. and the Best Project of 2021 is... Spoiler Surprise! To uh, absolutely no one. Planet Her is easily the best album of 2021 for me. The thing about a Doja Cat album is that every song eventually grows on you, and Planet Her is no different. In fact, this album was her most instant one yet. If you get it, you get it, if you don’t, you don’t! The fact the album opens with “Woman”, which contains one of her best rap verses yet, was an immediate triumph. Planet Her plays on the strengths of Doja Cat’s effortless versatility and ability to bring a song to life. I would also like to applaud the fact that she has clearly mastered blending different genres together and somehow making it cohesive for the entire album. Jumping from Afrobeat to dancehall to trap to pop to contemporary r&b, I could go on… The album genuinely doesn’t have a single song I would skip. I’ve learned to appreciate all of these songs, some more than others of course, but once again Doja Cat delivers another SOLID body of work. I’d consider it a natural progression from internet viral princess to mainstream superstar. Planet Her is one of those albums where I could see almost every song become a single. It’s no wonder TikTok went crazy over it.

BlackoutZone Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Summer's album was great, I didn't expect it to like it since I wasn't really into Over It, but it turned out to be much better. Great highlights, especially Insane #1 could not be any other great coutdowns overall
