HDD: Adele 833k (biggest debut of the year), Taylor 165k

This is getting shafted with Thanksgiving tbh. But it'll get a nice second week probably with Black Friday. Physicals will probably sell like hot cakes at Walmart and Target. I could see a 500k second week tbh.

Is this real? I saw this user jumping everywhere, did not realize they are living such a wild double life. An ATRL Richard Kane Mansir, me think

Yea, the user is :biblio:.

These are objectively great numbers in the grand scheme of things, but there’s no way around the fact they’re also less than both her label and the industry at large expected. Call their expectations overblown (which is probably a fair conclusion), but in those terms, this is an underperformance.

The days of Adele being far and away the most successful recording artist on the planet are probably over, but that’s okay. Like I said, these are still amazing numbers. I’m more so curious what her next album’s debut will look like, and also how 30 will hold up in the weeks ahead.

This is a very objective pov. :clap3:

The fun part is people trying to drag her for these numbers when in reality they're amazing.

I knew it! Idk why y'all were so sure she'd sell more than 1m pure. We're in an era where sales are nonexistent besides vinyl. These are good #s and sadly 1m+ copies of an album first week for just sales is likely dead.

Does anyone know why vinyl sales are so prevalent on the market ? I've noticed that Taylor, Olivia and Billie did well on that format this year. Is collecting vinyls the new onward trend ?

People starting to trash Easy On Me…

The song that’s about to return to #1 for a 5th week next week… and is literally bigger than any song most your favs have put out in several years.

I mean....yeah, it's a clear underperformance for HER and the label's definitely left disappointed, but HOPEFULLY this finally lifts those otherworldly expectations of her back so she can release music more often instead of always being that artist who's supposed to be and do this and that.

Not y'all dragging Adele when she's the music industry. You should worry about your fave if this is happening to her

HDD usually underestimates too, redtv was predicted at 500k and did 600k, so this might rise through the week

Difference is, HDD is going off of 3 days of data, meanwhile Red TV had 1 day of data.

Ngl I am shocked. I thought it would easily pull 1.2M but streaming has changed so much since 2015 that it says more about the industry than her imo

I am now more interested to see how it sells in the following weeks.

Best case scenario for Adele at this point is having a run like Shania’s Up!

1st week - 874,000

2nd week - 623,000 (Black friday)

3rd week - 317,000

4th week - 373,000

If she can do at least 400k next week that would be great.

I'm just glad she's not touching Britney's pure album sales record:coffee2:

it was obvious that she would had a less successful era

She really went from biggest debut in music history to 30% more than a re-recording released the week prior.

What the hell happened?

Bad album that we were able to stream before we bought

And why are you guys acting like Taylor just released the album and it’s selling solely based on the music :deadbanana4: homegirl has been EVERYWHERE talking about how SB STOLE her music and how this is taking her power back so everyone should buy TV as an FU to SB and the people who screwed her over :skull: and releasing like 10 versions of the album :deadbanana2:

And now she resorted to reigniting rumors about a decade old relationship that last 3 months with an A-list actor.

Adele just needs to release her music :dies:

Girl let's not get me started. She just did an exclusive show on the biggest TV channel in the US that was watched by 10 million people, let's start there. She also performed live in a couple of shows in Britain/ Europe. She did tons of interviews, Ophrah exclusive, and has 3 songs on Spotify biggest playlist.

Britney hasn’t had that record since Adele shattered it in 2015. :skull:

25 shattered this already 6 years ago with 3.34 million

There are literally 5 versions to pick from on her website :deadbanana2:

Red Vinyl

Red Clean

Red Ex

Red digital Clean

Red digital ex

You can buy most albums on CD, Digital and Vinyl. 30 was on all these formats too. Having both an explicit and clean version has been standard for decades too. :rip: OTHs should join the Olympics with these reaches.

It was unfair to expect her to match 21 or 25. Her label should have tried to push vinyl more though given it's a huge market now.

This is not bad. People just dragging it cuz of the standard Adele sets. It's like ATRL calling Lover a flop for Taylor's standard when it was commercially a success esp among its peer albums.

You are right. It has no replay value. I keep going back to one or two songs, but that's it. It's too personal and sad to listen to imo. Should honestly have been a book or something.

Taste differs :coffee:

for alot of people (both longtime fans and even moreso critics and casual listeners/non-fans) it’s her best album.
it’s def not as immediate as 21, but it’s at least as good imo.

America is not the entire planet. And fake China sales don't count.

Except those Chinese sales are all real. Y'all are so ****ing racist and you're not even hiding it. :biblio: I know racism against Asians always get swept under the rug but ATRL still has ZTP in place :biblio:

The album is boring AF, couldn’t even finish the songs.

People act like selling 850k is bad in 2021 when she debuted higher than 99.9999% artists out there without bundles :rip:

I didn’t read atrl for years and I remember this forum for its quality and good users. Now it’s a mess full of haters like Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. What a shame.

What forum have you been reading? :deadbanana2:

This isn't even the worst HDD prediction thread, just ask liddos and kats :clown:
