CaptainMusic Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 The absolute MESS if she does under 800k and predictions lower like Scorpion…
Rev8 Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Swifties here seem really happy I mean there was speculation that she would see a large drop in sales but still would be impressive, so.. Wonder how much she will end up selling

Just because you don't like an album doesn't mean that these reviewers were compensated. And you should know that considering Kanye West can't sell **** these days. Kanye had one of the biggest opening weeks of the year and his album got one lowest ratings of the year. Anyways, to say that positive reviews don't move some people to buy or at least to check out (aka stream) an album is a huge understatement. Who are they writing them for? For people who bought them already and need the validation of their opinions. Plz don't underestimate the lengths to which labels would go to for their biggest sellers. Publications are just as corrupt as radio stations. You can officially influence them to positively review skincare/haircare products. Nothing stops them from doing the same for music. Obviously Adele is not the only who benefits from this. As you know average review scores went up extremely high in the past few years.

MonsterTown Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 yes its doing less but still good numbers overall, still a kii for the people using her to drag others.anyway the music still good
thismoment Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Are people seriously dragging an artist for selling over 800k in the first week? (without bundles, 17 different versions and merch like others did)

It's just hilarious how this forum hides behind her to drag Taylor and they've been saying it for years only for 30 to sell barely +200k more than Taylor's re-release of a DECADE old album and on par with Lover/folklore. Who are yall gonna hide behind now? But the swifties!!11! I don't remember this energy when the Adele fans created the thread comparing her Oprah special ratings to City of Lover or the 19837382 threads and posts about who is 'the real music industry'

Did you actually expect her to sell near 3M even with a 6-year-break, the physical market collapsing and the fact that no one has opened with +1M sales in four years ??

If Adele's label want her album to be bigger than what it is, they could have just bought more albums or had every song played on radio like Drake's label did. You are really mad because Adele got her most acclaimed album to date. Shut up and stop posting libel.
aron.p Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 (edited) Second week should be interesting. I always knew my girl would become an indie artist eventually At least my other fav is still doing numbers. Edited November 22, 2021 by aron.p
Mr. Duff Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 I honestly expected at least a mil so in my opinion this is an underperformance, but still huge nonetheless Hope this will have longevity.

TBH i was thinking more of the people who dragged him for selling 130k in the UK (biggest sajes of the year)... but even just looking at the US, him and Adele's declines are proportionally the same (70%) and Eds single success will grant longevity. Adele was in the stratosphere and is now sitting next to other A list sellers. Ed at his peak only managed 450k...

PopFan1996 Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 She's still the queen of pure sales no matter what you think 600-700k pure sales in 2021? With no bundles? Yep she owns the CD industry. It's fact.

getback Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 it's what they deserve for not releasing Can I Get It as lead but i think her numbers will go up
John Slayne Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 you guys better be right about HDD underestimating, otherwise the mess that will ensue...

Miss Show Business Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Wasn't a big part of 25's success because it was released on black friday, which is when most people who would buy the album were out in stores? I wonder how much it'll do in it's second week.
