1989 Posted July 19, 2021 Share Posted July 19, 2021 Well, the song isn’t very good, for one. Bland songs + no real identity = no wonder Normani hasn’t really taken off. She’s talented as a performer for sure, but it doesn’t seem like she or anyone on her team has an ear for that hit that will get her where she’s obviously trying to get to. Watch that music video and she clearly has the talent - so it's not made up that people are rooting for her. she's a dark skinned black women - who dont usually have the same mainstream success as their peers. we should be uplifting her talent, not knocking her down (even if you dont feel shes the best voclaist).
