Yeah, this. Taylor's albums post-Red are only available to be purchased and her pre-1989 albums are only available to be streamed with a paid subscription whereas most of Gaga's music can be streamed for free across every subscription. It's hard to go in details, but the reason why Gaga's music is available for free is that labels are only allowed to have a certain amount of artists in the paid tier (Ariana, Ed Sheeran, Bieber are too for example) and her label decided to prioritize other artists. The only music Taylor has that's available to be streamed for free are her droplets (hence why her random droplet Only The Young managed to be the second most streamed song of the year ) and non-studio album releases (such as the folklore live pond). The Man for example only made it to #14 based on the Live From Paris recording. 

 

If anything, Taylor is the one who dominated like no one else

Absolutely, yes. Imagine thinking Sour Candy didn't top the chart thanks to Blackpink who have been the most relevant international artist of the year in China along Taylor. BP's Chinese fanbase is insanely big. You want to seat there and pretend that if Sour Candy was a solo song, it would've been #1 on the QQ western chart?

How you like that was a fully performed single, had a music video, was on the radios. Same for ice cream. Why didn’t those go #1? You guys are not going to belittle Gaga her and get away with it. Be aware of how respected and loved Gaga is around the world. And it’s obvious in that list that that is not the only song by the legendary Lady Gaga is charting there.

Why would HYLT, a song by a kpop act, even appear on the western streaming chart?  Good god use some logic here  HYLT was #1 on the kpop chart, where it belongs  Besides, just like Taylor's music, How You Like That and Ice Cream for the most part were exclusively available for purchase, not for streaming. In fact Ice Cream was almost not available at all for streaming, hence it only appearing at #83 on the kpop chart despite being the second best-selling kpop song of the year in China (their year-end charts like these are solely based on streams). This is what happens with big acts because their labels would rather have them put their music in the digital store which is reserved for only a few selected big acts. So let it sink in: Just like Ice Cream tanked on the kpop chart because it was reserved for digital purchase, the only reason why Gaga's songs are so high is because songs by bigger acts (such as Ariana and Taylor) were not available to be streamed where as Gaga's music is available in the free tier. It's 100% clear Taylor is miles above Gaga in China. It's also extremely clear that Blackpink is way, way, way bigger than Lady Gaga. Like not even close. HYLT and Ice Cream are literally the 2 best-selling international songs of the year and are bigger than anything Gaga has done in China for over a decade
