Various Artists - Beauty And The Beast 37,000 (+2) 10. Various Artists - The Fate Of The Furious 37,000 (debut) DAMN. follows Lamar’s previous No. 1 sets: last year’s Untitled Unmastered. and 2015’s To Pimp a Butterfly. He joins Drake and Future as the only acts to have achieved at least one No. 1 album in each 2015, 2016 and 2017. Drake had two No. 1s in 2015, including a collaborative set with Future (What a Time to Be Alive), as well as one No. 1 in both 2016 (Views) and 2017 (More Life). Future topped the list twice in 2015 (DS2 and What a Time to Be Alive), once in 2016 (Evol) and twice in 2017 (his self-titled album and HNDRXX). At No. 2 on the new Billboard 200 chart, singer/songwriter John Mayer debuts with The Search for Everything. The album earned 132,000 equivalent album units (120,000 in traditional album sales). It was preceded by two introductory EPs that each featured four songs from the full 12-song album: The Search for Everything: Wave One (No. 2 on the Feb. 11-dated chart) and The Search for Everything: Wave Two (No. 13; March 18). http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/7768109/kendrick-lamar-damn-no-1-billboard-200-album-chart-john-mayer-fate-furious Kendrick Lamar Earns Third No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With Biggest Debut of 2017 Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. blasts in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 2017’s biggest week for an album: 603,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending April 20, according to Nielsen Music. That’s the most units earned by an album in a single week in nearly a year, since Drake’s Views launched with 1.04 million units in the week ending May 5, 2016. The previous record holder for 2017’s biggest week was the debut of Drake’s More Life, with 505,000 units in the week ending March 23. http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/7768092/kendrick-lamar-damn-no-1-album-billboard-200 full top 10 coming tommorow, hot 100 top ten coming monday Edited April 24, 2017 by UNNAMI
UNNAMI Posted April 23, 2017 Author Posted April 23, 2017 DAMN.’s debut is larger than expected: on the afternoon of April 20, industry prognosticators had forecasted a bow of between 530,000 and 550,000 units. (And that figure was an upgrade from three days earlier, when its start was pegged at 475,000.) DAMN.’s forecast kept growing (into its eventual finish of 603,000 units) thanks to the set’s sustained strong popularity on streaming services through the week. The set’s start of 227,000 SEA units is the second-largest streaming week ever for an album. (227,000 SEA units equates to 340.6 million streams of the songs from the 14-track album during its debut frame, as each SEA unit represents 1,500 streams of songs from the album.) The only larger streaming week for an album was registered by Drake’s More Life, which launched with 257,000 SEA units (384.8 million song streams).
