WAP wasn't as big. Just as I imagined

It literally debuted in late August so it only had 13 weeks to get a chart run in. It spent the entire Billboard year in the Top 10. It, Mood, Dynamite, Popstar and Laugh Now Cry Later were pretty much the only debuts after August to make year-end

People belittling the impact radio has especially in the United States, where it remains the quintessential source when it comes to music, and has the greatest reach with people. :rip:

This is basically agreeing that classics like "Iris", "Don't Speak" and "Torn" were not hits, when they're some of the biggest and most well-known songs from 90's.

Radio is still how most people hear these songs and I doubt even Don't Start Now would be that high without it ,it's archaic yes but still very influential.

Streaming decreased this year because of corona and billboard cut user generated youtube streams from the Hot 100 (WAP would have spent like 8 weeks at #1 if user generated youtube streams still counted for the Hot 100), not to mention that digital sales are worse than ever (except for BTS and their website sales)

That's why 2020 charts are more airplay fueled.
