I actually disagree, cause the album tries to be something bigger than it is. She heavily tried to paint it as a conceptual record with all these visuals, themes and at the end of the day as you said this is just a collection of bops, not even fresh or new in her discography :michael:

Yeah I guess it does have the imagery around it, but I feel like this elevates the music rather than causes baggage, and the instrumentation and arrangement of the album does interplay with the imagery so I don't necessarily think it's trying to be something it's not. It's not conceptual, but the otherwordly vibe she gives it does play nicely with the music (unlike her past albums, especially ARTPOP, where it's all image and no show musically). I can agree to disagree though :lakitu:

I know 50% of your set. Yves Tumour's record was okay. I liked #18, #17 and #16 more. I have to say Taylor's record was a pleasant surprise. What's Your Pleasure? is definitely my favorite off this set. Top 10, bring it on!

not folklore below chromatica:shakeno:

It beat it out because of replayability for me,  I love Folklore but I'll only listen to it occasionally, I can come back to Chromatica pretty much whenever.

It was very hard cutting Jessie out the top 10, but everything above her is stronger :weeps:

Shabrang too low :jonny: although I wish the album had more of the PJ Harvey/Wallflower sound to it

At least After Hours, Plastic Hearts and The Slow Rush made the top 40 even if they're quite low

Joji-Allie-Bree back to back, all 3 were severely underwhelming for me :fan: Haim and Kylie were good tho :heart2:

Was gonna say I'm happy about folklore and Fake It Flowers being top 20 but I sad Gaga is above them :giraffe:

Manic and Whats Your Pleasure? close to the top 10 :jonny5: the Yves album was just good for me, nothing more

I love Shabrang but it definitely suffers from the track list being too long, there’s only so long I can appreciate her voice and writing alone before the lack of theatrics in the instrumentation become a bore :monkey:

Ungodly Hour gorgeous album

I listened to Modus Vivendi and thought I would enjoy it a lot, but it was just there, I will revist eventually

BTF is such a heavenly track, I'd love for her to do an entire ambient album like that :jonny6: It was either New Gods or BTF up for highlight.

Disappointed to see it in most people's honourable mentions or disappointments, truly one of the strongest albums of the year.

you sorted through Nightmare Vacation QUICK! I still haven't gotten to listen. Shoutout Ari though

It's not my top fav from c, but I think Miss Anthro is a solid project too.

And yes I believe in Shygirl supremacy,

ah i see you are cominging eps and albums.

well, i liked every single album here.  unfortunately idk if i can put 070 on my lists because even though it was release like in janaury i listened to it for the first time this week.  late i know!  georgia is great, kinda want her to find her own sound.  some songs were giving me m.i.a. and some songs were giving me... chvrches.

shygirl, cxh, and grimes, well i stan them.  interesting grimes picks, aside from 4aem which is pretty obvious.  the other 2 aren't ones i see chosen a lot but darkseid MIGHT be better than scream.

Posted

hmmm can't really say i love most of these, except cxh. with that said, i agree with the top 3 picks for the albums, darkseid gave me chills first time i heard it
