Wait she's from Wonder Girls?   I remember back when they were performing Nobody on Wendy :jonny5: That was one of the only few K-Pop songs I liked at the time, the way it's just gone full circle :jonny5:

Yes :jonny: Wonder Girls spawned a lot of talent and they were surely one of the first Korean groups to make some noise in the US years ago, legendary!

drag me :ahh:

but in my defense, I was talking about her first EPs. The Lush Life era. So Good was a letdown

Oh we are talking #1 era (aka her actual debut) I have to say it was a really nice project (I think she partially released it later as Uncover EP?). Rooftop might just be her best song.

kinda expected it to be 127 when you said only one NCT release caught your attention this year nn. i don't know dream so let me listen to it.

so what.... well the video was cute but with the 0.3 seconds of screentime JesusSoul got i can safely say it's their worst title!

mokitsu

just is so good :jonny:  too lowkey to be on my list, but it's a cute chill bop.

i quite like the travel ep, but AYA is AWFUL !!!!!!!! :skull: dingga is much better, but their bsides are my favorite output of theirs this year. hwa sa's mini is cute too, despite being all over the place.

NCT 127 project had some cute moments, but nothing really slayed me as much as We Are Superhuman so :keir:

Yeah it is very lowkey, but I'm just giving Eyedi exposure she deserves and needs!

Yes AYA by far the worst and doesn't even fit the sound of the mini :toofunny3: I will dive more into their older stuff eventually

Ridin' is a mega bop, nice to see someone stanning it. I agree nothing has topped Caffeine (idk if she ever will to be honest), but at least her output is good. Dingga def should've been the title track instead of Aya, the EP as a whole was just okay to me, but MMM have a really good discography so I'm sure they'll pull out something good for their next comeback (maybe go back to their old style? Would like to hear another Piano Man tbh...).

Honestly I'm yet to see someone's list with Ridin' or anything by DREAM, sad!

I think even after AYA dropped Dingga was outperforming it, GP was right for once.

eyedi!  she's so good ugh, wheres the mini or album, we've only gotten singles at this point.

Exactly like, one/two songs a year ain't it... SUNMI 2.0

Miss AURORA deserved to be higher with this instant classic! I'll be waiting to see which Allie, Kylie and YUKIKA songs you selected for your top.

Hit Different is one of the best R&B songs in recent memory. I fear many will 'get' that song in 5 years.

Period, it's so addictive!

Omg Eyedi really does deserve to have more attention. Also found her through Caffeine which is such an excellent song!

She is brilliant, but still so unknown...

17 hours ago, TheWayWeWere said:

omg, so nice to see LML here :clap3: it's actually my favorite out of her droplets, especially thanks to AMAZING MV

Hit Different is great, I love classic r&b vibes. Very excited about her album

Positions (album) is actually a grower :fan: y'all better stop dragging it :eli:

Some people do too much on it, but I really want Ariana to try harder to impress us. Female R&B has been blossoming in past years and if she wants to stand next to album like Ungodly Hour, Take Me Apart, CTRL... she needs to try harder.

the Leon song wasn't my fave from her album, should have included Crazy/Stupid or Seventeen instead :fan:

Love Me Land was a potential 11/10 until the chorus  same with Hit Different, Ty sounds horrible on it

safety net kinda overrated for me :keir: Ridin' kinda shite, should have included Love Again or 7 Days :giraffe:

Kinda agree on So What but I love it now :jonny5: You, Just and Dingga are all just cute for me

Crossroads is very cute but yeah there's no comparison :fan:

All are good, but this one was out earlier and I listened to it more throughout the year so :fan:

Oh I love the chorus, it's not instant for sure, but once it grows it's just stuck in the head. Wish the song was longer though

The Ty panning on both tracks, idk he has very pleasant voice to me on both

I was thinking of putting 7 Days, but Ridin' is super catchy and it's a title :fan:

I actually prefer So What to Why Not so

I was so into Dedicated Side B when it came out, but my love for it faded pretty quickly. This project definitely feels like it is... what it is - a collection of outtakes. It's hard to find a noticeable stand out for me, but TLIC is one of the tracks I like the most. Summer Love / This Is What They Say could take its place on some other day.

8fO7PA1.jpg

You know she is a legend when her outtakes project is damn good. Do You Think of Me absolutely remains a career highlight, but it didn't feel right putting it here since it's been out for decades and from the "new" tracks Mesmerized caught me the most. Enchanting song.

BENEE found her way out there this year with a quarantine Tik Tok hit Supalonely (which, no shade, is kind of her worst song) and dropped a debut album which I really loved just weeks ago. Her lazy melancholic vocals work so well with often laid back production and really set the mood in these long autumn/winter quarantine days. Snail isn't really an indicator of how the album sounds, but it still remains a stand out I loop ever since it dropped as a single. Plain and Same Effect were close to taking its spot though!

lrQm5ii.jpg

Perhaps her best lead since the debut? She really said "don't give up on me just yet gays" after uninspired Love + Fear era. I could point out mastering bothering me a bit at first, but outside of that it's a great single with classic campy Marina songwriting and I'm super excited for the album again.

His best song yet, love everything about it and it saddens me how it got "wasted" for an EP instead of a proper LP that would get more attention. But consider whole In a Dream was great I'm excited for what he will serve next. I already know Easy with Kacey will make the list next year

all incredible songs, although i would argue a couple song's on dedicated side b could've taken that spot.

This Love Isn't Crazy is one of two songs from Dedicated Side B I would want to revisit :clap3:

Man's World poorly mixed cringy I'm A Ruin rehash, I listened like 4 times

TYH amazing

haven’t used dedicated side B since it’s release month but TLIC is definitely the clear standout iirc, also man’s world is great too :clap3:

Love seeing Troye praise :clap3:Man's World is excellent too, can't wait for the album.

thats a... INTERESTING choice for dedicated side b.  respect you for being brave though.

man's world and take yourself home are so good, proud of them for improving so much. something about marina's lyrics just make me laugh lmao.  she is camp tbh, i think a lot of people dont understand that.

Great choices, although you already know how I feel about snail making its way there...

Man's World :clap3: amazing track, nice to see classic Marina's back

Mesmerized was cute, but not my favorite unreleased from ha :fan:

Hot take but I preferred Side B to regular Dedicated :skull: I mean I wasn't crazy over either but highlight for highlight, Side B won for me. The Summer Love mention :keir: definitely my favorite from Side B, and honestly my favorite Carly song now.

Out of the K-Pop, can't believe Loona released something like So What. It sounds so dated tbh. I like the Eyedi song.

Out of the english songs, Haven't listened to MC's outtakes yet.  I gave up on Marina long ago but taking a peek at Man's World now at least it isn't as embarrassing as her recent edm songs.

I kinda like Man's World but I still get slightly boring L&F vibes from it :dancehall: Hopefully she serves another Oh No! or Hollywood in her next release

take yourself home really grew on me, it's one of the best on his EP

NCT Dream serving quality compare to the unit :clap3:Only the superior unit!

Yes APRL mini is so good. I've never been a fan of them but Da Capo mini prove me wrong wow :jonny5:

This Love isn't Crazy, Mesmerized, Take Yourself Home :clap3: Man's World is freat but the lyrics is kinda cringy at some parts nnn

Finally, there is another one I recognize. Kudos to This Love Isn't Crazy!

Posted

This Love Isn't Crazy  You chose the right song because SL & TIWTS are actually my bottom 2 from Side B :fan: And then with BENEE I prefer Plain/Same Effect over Snail :gaycat3: Take Yourself Home YUP it's a knock & likely in his overall top 10 :sats::sats::sats:

Posted

SIS I think your top 3 for Dedicated Side B are in my top 5 for the album too. Can you believe that some people still cling to the thought of Side B > Side A? Embarrassing

I was so nervous about the mastering on the song with the Youtube version of the song which I played like 5 times before starting to stream it. It's really not that bad on streaming (at least Spotify) but I still get what you mean.

Posted

I mean Supalonely is a bop but I think there were better songs on her EP last year (Glitter and Soaked especially)

TYH is good but Easy and IAD (song) are better imo!

Didn't listen to that Mariah project tbh :-$
