Taylor Doesn’t Have a 90+ Album on Metacritic. Why?

folklore came close, but, after rushed reviews, the album dropped nearly 10 points to 89. Why doesn’t the best-selling female artist of our generation have critical acclaim when it comes to her music, at least when it comes to her albums being reviewed by critics?  :giraffe:

Since when is a drop from 94 to 89, 10 points. Someone needs to learn how to do math before making threads

Because she doesn’t, until she does. And when she does. She will. Or she won’t. If she doesn’t.

Whoever said she was the “Best Selling Artist Of Our Generation”, when she’s not even the “Best Selling Artist Of The New Millennium”, Male or Female?:rip:

As for this thread...

What are you doing Sis?

Neither does Adele or Rihanna but it doesn’t stop them from getting hits, sales, acclaim, and awards.

This thread is embarrassing. :rip: 89 is still a fantastic score, so what was the point?

I guess it's getting harder and harder to find reasons to drag the most successful female artist of the last decade

Why are you using Metacritic's scoring, but ignoring their index indications? 81+ is universal acclaim on there, so you mentioning the score then saying she has no acclaim makes no sense. This entire thread makes no sense. wyd

first she was chastized for stealing black music

now she gets chastized for making quintessential white music again

maybe for her next album she should musicn't

It is FUN! especially when it debuted with a 96 rating, ladies. :coffee2:

Math errors aside.  Having a media-critic score of 90 or more is extremely rare for any artist big enough to get most critics to review their work.  The only studio album I know of receiving 90+ is Lemonade.  Adele, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Justin Bieber all don't have an 90+ album.

That said, Taylor has generally faired better with critics than her peers (and has two AOTY awards) so she is hardly not received critical acclaim.

She has those two Album of The Year Grammys though. What do you have to show for your time on earth atrl user Brikenbur?
