MusicLoverDude Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 I'll do my reviews tomorrow afternoon after SongPop Live. For now, I'll leave my comments for the one song I know will rank high. Not Ready To Make Nice - AMAZING choice and an amazing song - pure rage and standing up for what you believe in, even when others want you to go down in flames for it.
touya kinomoto Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 My critiques serving 52 on MC a la Teenage Dream teas

Remmy Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 Actually wasn't planning on doing critiques but I did anyway. You're probably never gonna catch me doing them in individual posts though, I don't care about your extra credit B*TCH Spoiler Lily Allen - The Fear || Not really seeing it for this theme M.I.A. - Born Free || I was enjoying it until her vocals started with those heavy effects Not bad though Kacey Musgraves - Follow Your Arrow || Not really seeing it for this theme P!nk - What About Us || Good choice, wish it went a little harder lyrically. While I'm here let me remind you all that Beautiful Trauma is her best album Katy Perry - Chained To The Rhythm (feat. Skip Marley) || Wish it went a little harder lyrically [2], but yeah this song has always had an eerie feeling to me because of how she's masking these messages with a fun sound. Ralph - Headphone Season || I've had Ralph on my list of artists to check out and this song is cute Although I don't really get any political vibes until the ending. Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) || Not really seeing it for this theme Shakira - Timor || Oh I wasn't ready for the beat to kick in, but some parts of this are not the easiest on my ears. The Cranberries - Zombie || We like her Stella Donnelly - Old Man || Society has progressed past the need for men! No more men! Anyway, the song doesn't really grab me. Kendrick Lamar - The Blacker The Berry || I feel like I can't always get into his music but this one is good & those lyrics hold major weight Common, John Legend - Glory || Cute. Kinda feels like a song version of a history textbook (in both good & bad ways.) Nina Simone - Mississippi Goddamn || She was really going off like this in the '60s, huh? Damn Janet Jackson - The Knowledge || I feel like if you took out the bridge, this entry would've been significantly weaker thematically. Decent song overall. Jorja Smith - Blue Lights || Simply a solid choice Halsey - Nightmare || Probably my favorite song in this group but I wish more of the lyrics fit the theme. Marvin Gaye - What’s Going On || Beautiful Madonna - God Control || Listened to this back when some of ATRL was praising it but not every section is enjoyable, especially the beginning. It could be nice if a few edits were made. M.I.A. - Paper Planes || Never thought of this as a political song before but yeah, it makes sense. Always been a bop. Solange - Almeda || Wish it was less repetitive but not bad.
Overprotected Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 Mr. Officer - 10/10 for the theme now as for the song well I have bad news
Overprotected Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 The Revolution Will Not Be Televised - Period, it's not very interesting musically but it works for me
Overprotected Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 Where is the love - It's cute but also corny, might get points
