Circus should only be a year or two from 3x Platinum and FF only two or three from 2x Platinum. If Glory got two more videos, I could see it hitting Gold eventually, too.

I think MJD is underestimating OIDIA too, but not by that much. I doubt it actually hit the 11 million mark as it was "only" certified 10x Platinum in 2005 and catalog sales are non-existent. OIDIA should be anywhere between 10.6-10.9 million in the U.S.

Britney was eligible for 5x Platinum at the time and In The Zone was eligible for 3x Platinum. While it is highly possible that OIDIA isn't eligible for 12x P, I wouldn't rule it out completely until they update all of her other certs to be current.

True, her team is a disgrace when it comes to certifications (just look at In The Zone), but in this case we should be conservative just to be safe, then we can be pleasantly surprised one day (hopefully!). - Best selling albums of the Soundscan era as of 2016 (estimate by oldbloke from UKMix) Quote Rank - Estimated Sales (m) - TITLE - Artist 01 - 16.49 - METALLICA - Metallica 02 - 15.64 - COME ON OVER - Shania Twain 03 - 15.08 - JAGGED LITTLE PILL - Alanis Morissette 04 - 12.79 - 1 - Beatles 05 - 12.28 - MILLENNIUM - Backstreet Boys 06 - 12.21 - THE BODYGUARD - Soundtrack 07 - 12.10 - LEGEND - Bob Marley & the Wailers 08 - 11.92 - SUPERNATURAL - Santana 09 - 11.77 - 21 - Adele 10 - 11.72 - HUMAN CLAY - Creed 11 - 11.17 - NO STRINGS ATTACHED - 'NSync 12 - 11.13 - COME AWAY WITH ME - Norah Jones 13 - 11.04 - THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP - Eminem 14 - 10.86 - FALLING INTO YOU - Celine Dion 15 - 10.75 - THE EMINEM SHOW - Eminem16 - 10.65 - BABY ONE MORE TIME - Britney Spears 17 - 10.44 - HYBRID THEORY - Linkin Park 18 - 10.34 - CRACKED REAR VIEW - Hootie & the Blowfish 19 - 10.33 - CONFESSIONS - Usher 20 - 10.28 - TEN - Pearl Jam 21 - 10.20 - TITANIC - Soundtrack 22 - 10.16 - BACKSTREET BOYS - Backstreet Boys 23 - 10.05 - THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON - Pink Floyd 24 - 9.64 - LET'S TALK ABOUT LOVE - Celine Dion 25 - 9.60 - GREATEST HITS - Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band 26 - 9.57 - DEVIL WITHOUT A CAUSE - Kid Rock 27 - 9.57 - ROPIN' THE WIND - Garth Brooks 28 - 9.46 - NEVERMIND - Nirvana29 - 9.24 - OOPS I DID IT AGAIN - Britney Spears 30 - 9.17 - 25 - Adele 31 - 9.03 - GREATEST HITS - Journey 32 - 9.01 - NO FENCES - Garth Brooks 33 - 8.94 - WIDE OPEN SPACES - Dixie Chicks 34 - 8.94 - HELL FREEZES OVER - Eagles 35 - 8.86 - 'NSYNC - 'NSync 36 - 8.61 - II - Boyz II Men 37 - 8.59 - COUNTRY GRAMMAR - Nelly 38 - 8.47 - FLY - Dixie Chicks 39 - 8.46 - GREATEST HITS - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers 40 - 8.43 - GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN' - 50 Cent 41 - 8.31 - DOOKIE - Green Day 42 - 8.31 - CHRISTINA AGUILERA - Christina Aguilera 43 - 8.30 - TRAGIC KINGDOM - No Doubt 44 - 8.29 - YOURSELF OR SOMEONE LIKE YOU - Matchbox Twenty 45 - 8.08 - BREATHLESS - Kenny G 46 - 8.07 - ALL THE WAY…A DECADE OF SONG - Celine Dion 47 - 8.03 - O BROTHER WHERE ART THOU - Soundtrack 48 - 7.95 - ALL THE RIGHT REASONS - Nickelback 49 - 7.93 - 2001 - Dr Dre 50 - 7.90 - THE LION KING - Soundtrack 51 - 7.89 - FALLEN - Evanescence 52 - 7.82 - THE HITS - Garth Brooks 53 - 7.79 - THE WOMAN IN ME - Shania Twain 54 - 7.73 - CRAZYSEXYCOOL - TLC 55 - 7.69 - UNPLUGGED - Eric Clapton 56 - 7.68 - DAYDREAM - Mariah Carey 57 - 7.59 - SIGNIFICANT OTHER - Limp Bizkit 58 - 7.51 - SOME GAVE ALL - Billy Ray Cyrus 59 - 7.48 - PIECES OF YOU - Jewel 60 - 7.46 - SPICE - Spice Girls 61 - 7.46 - SOME HEARTS - Carrie Underwood 62 - 7.39 - THE MISEDUCATION OF LAURYN HILL - Lauryn Hill 63 - 7.36 - MIRACLES: THE HOLIDAY ALBUM - Kenny G 64 - 7.36 - GREATEST HITS - Queen 65 - 7.33 - GREATEST HITS - James Taylor 66 - 7.29 - MUSIC BOX - Mariah Carey 67 - 7.09 - FEARLESS - Taylor Swift 68 - 7.05 - JANET - Janet Jackson 69 - 7.03 - RICKY MARTIN - Ricky Martin 70 - 6.98 - A DAY WITHOUT RAIN - Enya 71 - 6.98 - COOLEYHIGHHARMONY - Boyz II Men 72 - 6.90 - LET GO - Avril Lavigne 73 - 6.84 - HOTSHOT - Shaggy 74 - 6.80 - SONGS YOU KNOW BY HEART - Jimmy Buffet 75 - 6.79 - CHRONICLE: 20 GREATEST HITS - Creedence Clearwater Revival 76 - 6.79 - CHOCOLATE STARFISH… - Limp Bizkit 77 - 6.73 - TIME LOVE & TENDERNESS - Michael Bolton 78 - 6.73 - THRILLER - Michael Jackson 79 - 6.58 - SUBLIME - Sublime 80 - 6.57 - MY OWN PRISON - Creed 81 - 6.56 - BREATHE - Faith Hill 82 - 6.55 - WEATHERED - Creed 83 - 6.52 - NELLYVILLE - Nelly 84 - 6.50 - THE SIGN - Ace Of Base 85 - 6.50 - AMERICAN IDIOT - Green Day 86 - 6.39 - SONGS IN A MINOR - Alicia Keys 87 - 6.37 - THE WRITING'S ON THE WALL - Destiny's Child 88 - 6.35 - BREAKAWAY - Kelly Clarkson 89 - 6.35 - GREATEST HITS - Tim McGraw 90 - 6.26 - SMASH - Offspring 91 - 6.23 - METEORA - Linkin Park 92 - 6.22 - UNFORGETTABLE WITH LOVE - Natalie Cole 93 - 6.19 - THE SCORE - Fugees 94 - 6.15 - LICENSED TO ILL - Beastie Boys 95 - 6.14 - AUGUST & EVERYTHING AFTER - Counting Crows 96 - 6.13 - THEIR GREATEST HITS 1971-75 - Eagles 97 - 6.11 - NOT A MOMENT TOO SOON - Tim McGraw 98 - 6.11 - GREASE - Soundtrack 99 - 6.09 - THE EMANCIPATION OF MIMI - Mariah Carey 100 - 6.09 - CLOSER - Josh Groban https://www.ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=6341953#p6341953
Anticipating Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 By the way, Britney was featured twice on the "Best Selling Albums Of All Time" book. No clue how they got these numbers though.
drmkng Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 13 hours ago, Anticipating said: Britney also said BOMT is 10 years old, so we all know she's not very good with numbers. 100 million albums is label inflation and often confused with record sales (albums + singles + DVDs). Britney has sold around or close to 80 million albums worldwide, which would make her the 6th or 7th best selling female of all time (albums-wise). sjdjdjjdr I forgot about it , she does this everytime but I prefer believing Britney and her label , 100m sounds cool
