Prismee Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 yikes Heartless and this was why I was rooting against it for #1, i hate #1s with no longevity, same for that Lil Wayne song last year that got blocked by Girls Like You
brianc33710 Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Does anyone know where Truth Hurts ranks this week? It appears that this weeks Christmas re-entries didn't do as much damage as we had thought.

Next week these songs will also regain more airplay. So, as @Ger-55 has shown, a lot of this last years top songs should surge with the Christmas songs out of the way. @simmnfierzig When you get a chance, please read my message about OTR! Thanks!
MusicLoverDude Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 24 Xmas songs will fall off next week, but Hate Me and Baby Sitter will also be leaving as they are in their 20th weeks...unless Billboard allows them to stay on. That's TWENTY SIX open slots next week. Probably more because Harry Styles is bound to lose some entries.

Yeah pretty much. Only Human was the only casualty this week. Ransom was VERY lucky to not fall off. Trampoline also almost didn't make it. Next week, the only non-Xmas songs that should be going recurrent are Hate Me and Baby Sitter. Dua Lipa, Taylor and Halsey should return to the Top 40.
fridayteenage Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Underneath the Tree the first holiday song from this century to return from recurrency, yes?

Two years ago, I emailed BB because the Top 5 RC songs all gained in all metrics for a 2nd straight wk and, because of where Sam Hunt ranked on the Country Songs Chart, all 5 were back above 50. I thought that these were BBs criteria for letting RCs reenter the Hot 100. But Silvio said that those werent the rules. So BB probably wont get too generous with HM & BS.

The problem is, BB has been very confusing with what they do the last two years. Close Friends by Lil Baby spent more than 10 weeks BELOW #50 on the Hot 100 after its 20th week. When it finally did reach the Top 50 again, it only spent 2 weeks in the Top 50 and THEN went recurrent. I never understood why they did that. When they did it with You Say by Lauren Daigle, I figured it was because she would have been Top 50 without the Xmas songs, which is exactly what happened after they all fell out. They also gave mercy to I Like Me Better by Lauv one week because it fell below #50 because of a Drake album bomb, but otherwise would have been Top 40 without them.

BB allows AC hits forced RC by Christmas songs to RE that chart when holidays ends & has done so since Christmas took over AC Dec 2000. But that AC rule doesnt carry over to the H 100, or at least it didnt end of 2017-early 2018.....

Also, bad guy came out back in March so her latest single being old is not an excuse for Ariana. Do you think Billie Eilish is running around saying "hey y'all i'm doing promo so that there's more buzz around me for Grammy's season"? No lol. She's just doing promo and it's obviously effective. She's been on carpool karaoke recently, as well as many interviews and had a lot of radio gigs. Her fans eat it up. And bad guy wasn't her latest single, it was All the Good Girls Go to Hell, and was recently (or still is) top 40 on pop radio, whereas Ariana exited top 40 a while back

Also, -Good as Hell by Lizzo debuted at 52, which it shouldn't have been able to do -Baby Shark, a recurrent song, spent its final two weeks below #50 -Legends by Juice WRLD, which is not older than 2 years and does not have 20+ weeks on the hot 100, is recurrent for some reason Billboard has been extremely weird with the recurrency rules.

Pop Art Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 HITR Remix Spotify Positions #3-#6-#11-#17 Not the remix mimicking the songs' Hot 100 performance. He just can't get this song to stick it seems.
