P!nk Forever Posted December 28, 2019 Author Posted December 28, 2019 ARTIST: KIESZA SONG: HIDEAWAY ALBUM: Hideaway YEAR: 2014 GENRE: Dance/Electronic STORY: An energetic song with an incredible danceable attitude. Remarkable and a should be in every decade's list.
P!nk Forever Posted December 28, 2019 Author Posted December 28, 2019 ARTIST: CALVIN HARRIS & DUA LIPA SONG: ONE KISS ALBUM: Dua Lipa YEAR: 2017 GENRE: Eurodance/Pop STORY: I heard this on a fashion show in a city near mine and fell in love. You can say what you want about Calvin Harris but musically he's on top with these type of tunes and Dua adds that special something.
P!nk Forever Posted December 28, 2019 Author Posted December 28, 2019 ARTIST: SLEIGH BELLS SONG: RILL RILL ALBUM: Treats YEAR: 2010 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: I have a dozen of songs from Sleigh Bells in my Spotify library but I think I've played this one more than others because it's not as noisy or louder at all.
P!nk Forever Posted December 28, 2019 Author Posted December 28, 2019 ARTIST: BISHOP BRIGGS SONG: RIVER ALBUM: River YEAR: 2016 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: P!nk played this song on a few gigs before she released "Beautiful Trauma", so of course I had to check this qualitative track out. To some it may just be screaming along to a track - to me it is art.
P!nk Forever Posted December 28, 2019 Author Posted December 28, 2019 ARTIST: THE WEEKND SONG: I FEEL IT COMING ALBUM: Starboy YEAR: 2016 GENRE: Disco/Pop STORY: Normally I'm not into R&B of all sorts at all but as you can see in my Top 100 one and another of these tracks sneaked inside because I may have heard them on the radio and liked them all of a sudden. Same what happened to Lizzo or Drake in that aspect. The Weeknd has something in his voice that is pretty charming which is a bonus if you ask me.
P!nk Forever Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 ARTIST: THOM YORKE SONG: SUSPIRIUM ALBUM: Suspiria YEAR: 2018 GENRE: Dance/Electronic STORY: I watched the new Suspiria and of course the title track has struck me. It makes me melancholic and thoughtful.
P!nk Forever Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 ARTIST: FLORENCE + THE MACHINE SONG: SHIP TO WRECK ALBUM: How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful YEAR: 2015 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: There were many Florence songs to choose from but in the end I tended more and more to "Ship". If you don't know the lyrics at all you could come up with silly theories. Like who the hell is Rick?
P!nk Forever Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 ARTIST: THE BLACK KEYS SONG: GO ALBUM: Eagle Birds YEAR: 2019 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: Now this was the perfect soundtrack for my summer this year. The Black Keys hardly disappoint with their latest efforts.
P!nk Forever Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 ARTIST: GOSSIP SONG: PERFECT WORLD ALBUM: A Joyful Noise YEAR: 2012 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: Another song where I was torn between choosing this and a couple of others from Gossip but I ended up with "Perfect World" because it is the most powerful.
P!nk Forever Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 (edited) ARTIST: THE BLACK ANGELS SONG: DON'T PLAY WITH GUNS ALBUM: Don't Play With Guns YEAR: 2013 GENRE: Psychedelic Rock/Rock STORY: I was looking for songs for my AHS: Cult playlist. Isn't it just perfect for central characters like Ally Mayfair-Richards or Beverly Hope? Even Meadow Wilton if you ask me. If you don't know what I'm talking about, go watch this season. Edited December 30, 2019 by P!nk Forever
P!nk Forever Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 ARTIST: THE GREATEST SHOWMAN CAST SONG: A MILLION DREAMS ALBUM: The Greatest Showman O.S.T. YEAR: 2017 GENRE: Musical STORY: I can't tell which version I like more. While P!nk throws in her usual vocal skills I'm intrigued with the variety of different voices in the original. And Hugh Jackman does really have a great voice.
P!nk Forever Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 ARTIST: M.I.A. SONG: BORDERS ALBUM: AIM YEAR: 2016 GENRE: Dance/Electronic STORY: A great track from an exceptional artist. The lyrics are political but from an honest point of view.
P!nk Forever Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 ARTIST: DUM DUM GIRLS SONG: LOST BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB ALBUM: In the Wake of You YEAR: 2013 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: I got to know this brilliant track from an episode in AHS: Hotel. It was in a scene where John went out for a drink at Liz's bar. And it's such an anthem.
P!nk Forever Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 ARTIST: ARCADE FIRE SONG: THE SUBURBS ALBUM: The Suburbs YEAR: 2010 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: This is such a chill track that it surprises me that I ranked it so high. But it's really worth of its position. I don't even mind the high singing.
P!nk Forever Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 ARTIST: SIA SONG: CHANDELIER ALBUM: Chandelier YEAR: 2014 GENRE: Pop STORY: I think everyone was fascinated how a pop girl could land a hit without showing her face. Sometimes music doesn't need a face if you wanna feel it. I think there are like 10 Sia songs in my Spotify library but of course this classic stays superior.
P!nk Forever Posted December 31, 2019 Author Posted December 31, 2019 ARTIST: WRABEL SONG: THE VILLAGE ALBUM: The Village YEAR: 2017 GENRE: Pop STORY: I've never heard of Wrabel before. Not after I got to acknowledge that he was collaborating with P!nk on "Hurts 2B Human". So I had to check him out and "The Village" was a surprisingly good song about a transgender person struggling in life. That video is worth a watch.
P!nk Forever Posted December 31, 2019 Author Posted December 31, 2019 ARTIST: YOU+ME SONG: LOVE GONE WRONG ALBUM: rose ave. YEAR: 2014 GENRE: Folk/Indie STORY: This collaboration project between P!nk and Dallas Green (City and Colour) came out to be pretty much as a surprise. I picked their best song on their first album and I'm looking forward to their next.
P!nk Forever Posted December 31, 2019 Author Posted December 31, 2019 ARTIST: THRICE SONG: IN THIS STORM ALBUM: Palms - Deeper Wells EP YEAR: 2019 GENRE: Rock STORY: Thrice is a band that has been out longer before I knew it. Again I was collecting songs for my AHS: Cult playlist and "Black Honey" was a perfect match for it. Their latest EP which came out this year is in my opinion better than most of their catalogue. Maybe because it's more mainstream than their other stuff which I simply can't get into besides "Honey". "Storm" has a nice ending. Check it out.
P!nk Forever Posted December 31, 2019 Author Posted December 31, 2019 ARTIST: WHITE LIES SONG: DENIAL ALBUM: FIVE YEAR: 2019 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: I was checking out some Alternative playlists and this tune struck me to the fullest. It's a great car track to listen to and the climax kinda stays unreached if we compare other genre songs to it.
P!nk Forever Posted December 31, 2019 Author Posted December 31, 2019 ARTIST: VIAGRA BOYS SONG: WORMS ALBUM: Street Worms YEAR: 2018 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: It's on my bucket list to have that song being played at my funeral. The lyrics are filled with black sarcasm that it's hard to avoid its brilliancy.
P!nk Forever Posted December 31, 2019 Author Posted December 31, 2019 ARTIST: DIE ANTWOORD SONG: ALIEN ALBUM: Mount Ninji and da Nice Time Kid YEAR: 2016 GENRE: Dance/Electronic STORY: I have a few Die Antwoord songs in my library but "Alien" is actually their best because A) it doesn't feature Ninja whose rap would honestly destroy such a perfect track and B) it tells a story many of us can relate with. It also features one of my favorite Kurt Cobain quotes which I love about it.
