 I guess what I wanted to convey was that BADLANDS meant quite a lot to me that I felt comfortable enough to talk as Halsey. It feels like I've listened to this album SO much that I'm in a position to do something like that, like I'm right inside of Halsey's head. I was trying to show you that I love this album so much that I could speak about it pretty much in first-person. BUT, I definitely understand if it didn't come across like that! I should have been more explicit.

ATRL's original game "Choose The Album, Then a Song" is back for its anticipated ninth season on its original concept.

 

Oh wow! We are only four left and this will be the last elimination round. The final is literally one round away so please make sure you bring your A game. Everyone is so close that anything could happen! Two days ago we said goodbye to sumthintoxic82 and we were introduced to our final top 4 who will now battle for a spot in the final.

 

Before getting into the round itself, let's review the rules.

 

 

1. There's not such thing as bad losers;

We are all here to have fun and share our favorite music with everyone.

2. Every contestant must cast a vote each round;

The main purpose of the game is to introduce everyone to new music. If this rule isn't applied, only the judges will benefit from it.

3. Every entry must contain a written part;

To fully understand your decision, you will be required to send in an essay along with the song chosen.

4. A song can only be used twice and can only be use three rounds after;

This will allow you to explore your album further.

5. Deadlines must be respected by contestants and judges;

There will be three updates throughout the week.

6. There's no space for stan wars or called voters;

The main purpose of this game is to introduce everyone to knew music. Therefore, we don't want any fights or any type of voting manipulation.

7. The vote process is build up of two parts;

Every round the judges votes will be mixed with the public votes.

8. Be fair and do not be biased.

If you want others to respect your work and game, make sure you respect others too by not allowing your personal taste affect your votes.

The round before the final is generally reserved to the mean girls round but not this time as we have had that one already. We are taking a different approach and focusing on new music from your album... After all, we are here to know it better.

 

During this round, you will have to send all of the songs you have never submitted before and explain why you never chose to send it. The word limit will reach 500 words which will give you enough space to elaborate on your reasons and focus on a few rounds as examples. Make sure you focus on the songs and on the respective themes in order to justify yourself properly with valid arguments. Note that I said all of the songs, not one or two.

 

If by any chance, you've already sent all of them. Select one song you believe it's worth sending again and justify it.

 

Also remember that giving you the opportunity of finally presenting all of the songs from your album, will also give you space to justify why you deserve the final round.

Omg I've just planned to list what songs I haven't used myself.

I didn't notice the "all" at first... I  thought we just had to submit ONE song we hadn't sent before and I was wondering why you were giving us such a large word count. Then I saw the "all" and suddenly 500 words is nothing. I have 8 songs I need to submit, which is only 62 words per song  

 

Can you possibly change the word limit so that it's 100 words per song or something on a per song basis as opposed to a set limit? Because right now, people with shorter albums are at an advantage because they get to write about each song in more detail

Hi girlies. I know it's WAY overdue but I just thought I'd stop by and apologise for my non submission all those rounds ago. I didn't drop out intentionally because I was frustrated with the game, cos this is actually one of my favourite games on the forum for how chill and nice everyone is, but recently started a new full time job in an area I've never worked before, so I've frequented ATRL a LOT less in these past few months and just didn't have the time to create a solid entry.

 

I hope there are no hard feelings, and congrats on another successful season @Pedro and I'll definitely check out the finals.

My essay is fleshed out for the most part but I just need to finalize it. I'm also getting three days off in a row so I can afford to stay up a little bit tomorrow night to send it in.
