Great numbers for today’s standards, but NOT for Taylor’s. Her decline was inevitable... The fact that she sold four different editions of the album to try to push it over 1M sales... :toofunny2:

We all know damn well she’s fuming right now as I type this but will try her best not to show it.

It was inevitable and also bad?

That doesn't make any sense

Streaming is obviously more stable than sales

Not a good enough excuse :michael: if she’s in a leauge of her own, her album should have longevity and stability

He/She didn't start anything. :skull: They posted their opinion on the numbers, and then 10 Swifties replied to them bringing up Drake.

That user has a history of trying to do the most related to Lover, he wasn’t just “posting his opinion” :coffee2:

Girl go away, you’re doing the most about something that hasn’t even happened yet. The way Taylor gets you so bothered.

She could still get 1 million next time with proper single release. Honestly Me! (destroyed all hype for the new era) and YNTCD in addition turned some casual fans away. But 865k is still insane with such crappy singles being released. If she would of released ITHK or IFTYE (for a generic happy first single) & CS - this would of been over 1 million I truly believe.

Her marketing team already played out every scenario with focus groups to determine which lead single(s) would generate the greatest hype and most eventual album sales. Several months and tons of money go into the marketing teams choosing the proper singles, you 'truly believing" something almost certainly would have made no difference.

She is not, tell your self that, does that make you sleep better at night? If it does, stick to your delusion. :clown: pathetic

It's a fact not an excuse.

And it's totally irrelevant if you get to a million in 2 weeks or over 20 weeks.

In the social media era where everyone knows release dates and stuff 2 weeks is the more common way. Especially when you are 13 years into your career and have an established fanbase. 1989 had crazy longevity because of the big radio hits. Doesn't seem like Lover will get them at this point.

Also at this point of her career she is not "in a league of her own" (absolutely nobody is forever) in terms of chart dominance. Less so on the Hot 100 than BB200, but again Hot 100 / radio hits fuel longevity on the BB200.

The way you fume so hard and move goal posts to her second week since she wiped the floor with ANY of your fave's first weeks :ahh:

She IS in a league of her own, and there's NOTHING you can do about it. :ahh:

Within ONE week of release the album has already topped 3M+ units in global consumption. Apart from the monstrous US opening, she had a 1 million opener in China, the biggest sales week for any international artist in history there. Not to mention that the album has seen her biggest chart peaks in multiple markets, all in her SEVENTH album 13 years into her career. The album can fall off the face of the Earth next week (which won't happen, since her albums all chart extensively with longevity) and she will STILL be a winner. SUFFER. :ahh:

1. Rihanna has barely sold 10M albums (yes, we are discussing ALBUMS here) in the US with 8 albums. Eight. Barely 1M per album :lmao:

2. The main point that user was replying to was that streams are far more stable right now than sales. That person then implied since Taylor is outlier she should have no problem staying stable in sales :lmao:
