Well, it's over. It was a good run though, 4 weeks at #1, which is difficult to get, not everyone has that.

Why hasn’t Ava suffered from the ACR yet?

the transition from xmas week to the week after xmas week prevented a lot of songs from catching ACR since week-over-week market activity dropped, which allowed songs to sneak out of having 3 consecutive weeks where their rate of change was below the week-over-week market activity difference.

And poor Ellie got snatched by ACR the week before the transition :deadbanana4: good her label requested to remove the ACR on it but way too late for a top 10 peak she could’ve had.

One Kiss blocked NTLTC, not Drake

What are you people going on about? Drake debuted at #1 with Nice For What the same week as One Kiss debuted at #3.

https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singles-chart/20180413/7501/

The fact that One Kiss got to #1 later on doesn't mean that Drake wouldn't beat Ariana if they both released on the same week. I mean, maybe he wouldn't, but nobody really knows, it would depend on the songs, if there's a video out, and other things like that. The success of One Kiss is irrelevant to the discussion.

One Kiss blocked NTLTC.

Moreover, here's how many copies their last singles debuted with:

God's Plan : 54.513

Nice For What : 51.187

No Tears Left to Cry : 74.290 (biggest opening of 2018)

God is a woman : 46.670

thank u next : 72.881 (6 days) (2nd biggest opening of 2018)

7 Rings : 48.100 (3 days) *should open with +100k

If they released on the same week Ariana is more likely to outdo him :michael:

No songs opened with 100k last year. back in 2017 Ed Sheeran released so you have it

Shape of You 226.808

Castle On The Hill 193.744

Bridge Over Troubled Water 170.360 (charity song)

as for female songs, it must have been a long time. maybe since Adele's Hello in 2015 (333k copies).
