The "Better Together" girl group hit the scene in 2013

Six years later and they're apart now but they have:

 

• Half a dozen songs currently in the top 100 of iTunes
• 3 songs currently on the Hot 100 
• A few of the biggest songs of 2017 and 2018 (Havana, Never Be The Same, Love Lies)
• 2 Grammy Noms (Camila)
• An early start in 2019 with Lauren and Normani releasing two future hits (?)

 

Were the X factor girls picked merely for Sony Music to transform into future solo acts?

The only thing that's funny to me is the "debut" thing.

 

Fifth Harmony has had so many "debuts" and I remember ATRL being adamant Down wasn't  4H's debut because it was a "buzz single"

and Checklist and Slow Down weren't debuts because they didn't go to radio and Love Lies wasn't a debut because Khalid was on it and it was before they split. Lauren's Back To Me wasn't a debut and Expectations isn't a debut because it didn't get pushed and Bottled Up wasn't a debut because...

Perfect, Vamanos, Look At us Now aren't debuts for Ally for all of the above reasons and she was a feature

and Love Incredible wasn't a debut because it leaked and she already had IKWYDLS yada yada yada

Havana is top 100 after a year and a half 

 went number one on Hot 100

Love Lies is top ten after a year 

went nine on Hot 100 and is still charting

Consequences has been top 100 for a month or more  

Collab with Sam Smith Idk it's new but it will debut top 40 on the Hot 100 based on streams and sales 

Lauren's song doesn't have promo yet but May resurge with performance  

Bazzi song with Camila is top 40 and has been top 100 on iTunes for months
