mokitsu Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 big freedia's ep was so fun but a bit same-y. crush
Tom Vercetti Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Same #1 ep haven’t listened to Big Freedia or The King Of R&B yet but I like the others.
Pink Matter Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Ravyn was a nice lil surprise. Sticky is a jam and the other tracks on the EP were cute too. Def gonna check for her upcoming releases. I listened to one of the songs on the Andre EP due to Tom's rank and enjoyed it. Might check it out as well even though that's not what I want from him. Downloaded the Moses EP. I don't think his music is my cup of tea but I'll certainly give him another chance. Jacquees though I'm not sure if I can take dude seriously. I always see him acting up/being annoying on social media Edit: I too would like to know what the good sis Ravyn did
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 15, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 15, 2018 What's wrong with Ravyn? I don't know much about her as a person. Or is it her vocal? New Optimism is so underrated there was like no hype for it! FM! is on my albums list....
Vilppu Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 what ravyn did her + moses i dig, vince was ok too but def his worst release + very HM-y
MP2K Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 I always miss Moses Sumney projects. I am NOT listening to no damn jaqueef And I need this Rayvn tea that is my girl...
Love Drought Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Andre, Moses, Ravyn, Big Freedia . I'm not planning on listening to the King Of R&B anytime soon As for your book list, I'm intrigued by The Tunnel, The Night Stalker & Siddhartha. The Kurt Cobain one seems cool too but doesn't it get a little too angsty at times?
Navyofbadgals Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Moses and Ravyn snapped though I was kinda disappointed that Rank & File was the only song song on his ep if you know what i mean efoiajpaiefo Rank & File is a serve though
TRF. Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Andre's EP is really really good, unfortunately I think I only played it like once or twice ?
theblackestday Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 Haven't listened to the top 3 (might as well get to it), but if Moses' next full-length is as good as these three tracks then we're not ready.
Vxspertine Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 I still can't believe that I missed out on the Andre EP
Wicked Posted December 16, 2018 Author Posted December 16, 2018 Albums lists should start rolling out later this week. 17 hours ago, prézli said: I totally missed out Andre 3000's EP But I would have been interested in it. Never too late to give it a listen! 17 hours ago, Superpower said: I can’t at all these EP lists snubbing Khalid’s Suncity when Motion and Vertigo (plus the 2 songs smashing on Spotify) are almost flawless I didn't even know he released an EP 16 hours ago, mokitsu said: big freedia's ep was so fun but a bit same-y. crush Yeah kinda true, but her energy whew. 16 hours ago, Tom Vercetti said: Same #1 ep haven’t listened to Big Freedia or The King Of R&B yet but I like the others. There's not really any tea, she just doesn't add anything to the music. There's no cayenne on it. Replace her with any other R&B girl over the same tracks and there's no difference. 12 hours ago, Love Drought said: Andre, Moses, Ravyn, Big Freedia . The Kurt Cobain one seems cool too but doesn't it get a little too angsty at times? Y'all need to stop with this Jacquees hate when he dropped the best R&B material of the year! The Tunnel & Siddhartha are very short reads, so I'd highly recommend those. Yeah it's his private journal so there's times where it can get a little dark, but it has music industry/cultural commentary from one of the biggest acts of the 90s. I wouldn't't call it a must read but I enjoyed the insight (and the drags) 9 hours ago, Navyofbadgals said: Moses and Ravyn snapped though I was kinda disappointed that Rank & File was the only song song on his ep if you know what i mean efoiajpaiefo Rank & File is a serve though It's what made it top 5 worthy, a SONG. 8 hours ago, TRF. said: Andre's EP is really really good, unfortunately I think I only played it like once or twice ? MP2K Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 Iol I will try Jaq out and not be biased. I just wasn't impressed with the very first song he put out and "You" and then I had a friend that raved about him and it annoyed me. I think what's working for Ravyn rn is the fact that no one is doing tracks like hers, so she's really owning that sound and her voice is unique. But you're right though, I think she plays it safe.
Pink Matter Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 If Wicked ****s with him, then I'll give him a shot.
Maddox Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Adding the Jacquees/Andre 3000/Big Freedia eps to my wishlist!

I kinda thought the same about him when he first debuted, but he's grown a lot. Give 4275 a listen! If you like 90s R&B (who doesn't... ) he borrows from it well as mentioned, while updating it. I know damn well you were getting lit in the club to At The Club tho 11 hours ago, Pink Matter said: If Wicked ****s with him, then I'll give him a shot. World Eater Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 I'm not familiar with Mr. Jacquees, but other than that, perfect top 5! Good to see Big Freedia finally getting some love on ATRL

Vilppu Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 we had the same AOTY cute ^-^ i like the upgraded list better, sleep well beast and pop 2 are great additions and pure comedy is genuinely one of my least favourite albums of the entire decade so glad that's out too
Blue Rose Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Perfume Genius, The National and TWOD (the best album of 2017 ) are all great. Also I’m currently listening to Sleep Well Beast while catching up on the Best Of. What a coincidence
