I agree with above comment. TUN's video will probably end up iconic, but I find both the song and the video so whatever and kind of doing what it will take to go viral.

God Is a Woman is still her best video to date.

"Happier" really had a great music video and also made me tear up. I just get so emotional when dogs are involved :'(

MLD's Top 100 Songs: 40 - 31

40. Jake Miller - Think About Us

Zero Charts Peak: #6

So Random C/d Peak: #4

Plays: 202 (certified gold)

Of Jake's songs I was really into this year, this was the best one. It's got a very chill vibe for the evenings and it's very relateable too. Hoping 2019 is even better for him.

Final appearance by Jake Miller

39. Shawn Mendes - In My Blood

Zero Charts Peak: #6

So Random C/D Peak: #10

Plays: 130 (no certification)

I'm glad Shawn released something that wasn't another Stitches rehash for his lead single. But it was a song that had to grow on me in order to have any traction. I feel like Shawn has dealt with a lot of mental issues this year because of the media and I hope as he gets older he'll be able to be comfortable in his own skin. This song at least shows he has strength.

Final appearance of Shawn Mendes

38. Rita Ora - Let You Love Me

Zero Charts Peak: #8

So Random C/d Peak: #3

Plays: 125 (no certification)

If I'm going tbh, the Rita Ora bandwagon in the games section is being a bit extra at the moment with Anywhere making the Top 2 in @Ivan_brit's female tournament, and Let You Love Me being the #3 placing song in the L songs edition of ABC songs. She's getting a bit overrated on here and she has less hits than Carly Rae Jepsen and Iggy Azalea in the US ?:skull: . That being said, this song is pretty solid and grew on me the more I listened to it. The verses are good, but the chorus is what really lacks her. That's why I find it a bit overrated on here.

First of two appearances by Rita Ora

37. Cascada - Back For Good

Zero Charts Peak: #3

So Random C/D Peak: #4

Plays: 174 (certified Gold)

Cascada has been one of my favorite acts since my teenage years. Their dance music, regardless of quality, has always added sunshine to the dark points of my life. This song is no exception. It's different from their previous songs, as it's very disco like, but it reminds me of Kylie Minogue's Fever sound which I also got into this year a little. So the groove of the song is perfect for a playlist and to listen to in the background. Hoping Cascada will continuing releasing singles next year. I also would love a new album.

Only appearance by Cascada.

36. 5 Seconds of Summer - Want You Back

Zero Charts Peak: #5

So Random C/d Peak: #2

Plays: 309 (certified platinum)

Interesting how a lot of songs from males that I liked this year had to do with break-ups. This song and Think About Us low-key have similar themes. The groove of this song edged it out though. When this song flopped, I didn't think 5SOS would have been able to get a hit this era. Boy was I happy to be proved wrong with Youngblood

First of two appearances by 5 Seconds of Summer

35. Madison Beer - Home With You

Zero Charts Peak: #8

andom C/d Peak: #7

Plays: 258 (certified Gold)

Madison really deserved to have a Top 40 breakthrough with this. It's the only song that actually would have been a hit on it during summer. If only she had promo and a record label that believed in her. The callout scores for this weren't too bad. Thankfully she's only 19. This song is a bop that deserved better.

Final appearance by Madison Beer

34. Camila Cabello - Never Be the Same

Zero Charts Peak: #18

So Random C/D Peak: #7

Plays: 191 (certified Gold)

Camila's haters on this site really like to discredit this song don't they? I constantly see idiots in base say that this song wasn't a hit, when it peaked at #6 on the Hot 100 (higher than Toxic by Britney Spears and Chandelier by Sia for example), and it placed higher on the year-end chart than No Tears Left To Cry did. So...haters need to use something else to come for her, because otherwise they look like idiots. Anyways, this was one of the few highlights on Camila so I'm glad it got the single treatment. I still hear it on HAC radio so it works very well in a playlist aimed for that crowd.

Only appearance by Camila Cabello

33. Anne-Marie - 2002

Zero Charts Peak: #7

So Random C/d Peak: #4

Plays: 171 (certified Gold)

2002 is a more nostalgic year to me than 1999. I was 8 back then - Nick was of MUCH better quality. The Weather Channel was lit. Friends was still on. Avril debuted. I could go on and on. Anyways, this song is why several 2002 songs were on my countdown this year. This song is a catchy pop song that made me feel nostalgic. More nostalgic than 1999 ever could. I don't know why Anne-Marie was so hated this year because she's very harmless. And honestly, I prefer her over some of these blonde barbies with thin vocals or boring songs (Alice Chater and Ava Max, cough cough). Anyways, this song deserved to be a US hit so I feel bad that this was never pushed here.

Second of three appearances by Anne-Marie

32. Austin Mahone - Oxygen

Zero Charts Peak: #6

So Random C/D Peak: #6

Plays: 291 (certified Gold and will be Platinum)

Austin's career, stats wise, is just sad to think about at this point. His best song got screwed over by his label, and then everything after that was subpar material. If it wasn't for some Japanese comedian, he wouldn't even have a career in Japan, which is basically the only market he cares about now. This song has been his best release in 5 years. He's matured finally alongside Jake and Madison. I still feel sad for him though.

Only appearance by Austin Mahone

31. Jonas Blue f. Liam Payne & Lennon Stella - Polaroid

Zero Charts Peak: #6

So Random C/d Peak: 3

Plays: 90 (no certification)

***still charting***

Jonas Blue has been on fire lately with his music collaborations. He has THREE entries on this countdown as a result and this is the first one to appear. Liam and Lennon sound very magical when combined with the beat that Jonas Blue produced. It's the type of magic that is perfect for fall and winter. Had I gotten into sooner, it may have had a chance for Top 30. Anyways, the magic is only beginning for Jonas Blue.

First of three appearances by Jonas Blue. Second of three appearances by Liam Payne. Only appearance by Lennon Stella.

IMB, Want You Back, NBTS, 2002 are some of my least favorite songs of the year

Camila must’ve had some heavy payola to get NBTS played so much on HAC radio cause it’s not suited for the format at all.

LYLM is great though.

Top 10 Youtubers

- one more list I want to get out of the way before I make my next update with all the stats

- Youtube was my other main source of escape from the world this year, along with music, The Sims, dogs, and game apps (that list is still coming too). This is my list of my favorite Youtubers. I will specify which genre they fit into in case you are interested in that.

10. John Lordan

Youtube Genre: True Crime

Mysteries are something I've always been interested in. They are my favorite book genre, and I love Nancy Drew and crime shows. So naturally, Youtubers that cover true crime, or missing persons cases, definitely are going to be on my list. John will be one of two that appear in my Top 10 this year. He goes into a lot of details regarding each case, and he also does a great job of putting spotlight on cases that the media ignore, in particular, the disappearances of missing men. He is a collaborator with another true crime Youtuber that will be on this list as well, so he's a pretty cool dude, and his channel is amazing. The above video is just an example of what he does. So if you like missing persons cases, or true crime in general, I definitely recommend him, and I have two more recommendations on this list.

9. Beauty Backlist

Youtube Genre: Beauty, but also real life stories.

So yeah, I don't use her channel for beauty stuff, but I do love her channel for her real life stories. She worked at Walmart, so her retail horror stories series was awesome. Her restaurant horror stories are nice too, and she's also posted about her middle school diary which is hilarious :ahh: . She's a great person too so her videos are a bright spot to my day when I do watch them!

8. ForceThirteen

Youtube Genre: Science & Weather

Weather is one of my favorite subjects, and this channel focuses on hurricane content. Pretty simply put, I like what they do on there.

7. Andi Mack

Youtube Genre: Crack, entertainment

Andi Mack is the only  good Disney Channel show right now, especially since they have a gay character on their and a gay ship that is basically almost canon. So this channel is very funny for Tyrus content.

6. Kendall Rae

Youtube Genre: True Crime, Mystery

Another true crime Youtuber, who not only talks about missing persons cases, but also murders, and even social issues. Like, she has a video on the girl with the roommate who poisoned her. And Kendall is a very relateable woman and she does a great job with each video. Also, holla at her running this channel while having a learning disability.

5. PleasantSims

Youtube Genre: Gaming

If you know me, you know that I'm a Simmer. a Long time simmer since I was 12 years old. And I love watching Youtubers who still play The Sims 2. Cindy started her channel this year and she has a very unique way of playing the game that sets her apart from other Youtubers who do The Sims 2. And she's one of two Simmers who will be on this list, both with very different ways of playing, but still entertaining nonetheless.

4. Spectrum Pulse

Youtube Genre: Music (and the rest of entertainment)

I think this guy definitely ruffles some feathers here on ATRL. His opinion on a lot of pop music can be very polarizing. But, he's the only music critic on Youtube I can actually watch on a regular basis and respect his opinions. And this year I was LIVING for his constant dragging of idiots like Kodak Black, Lil Baby, Gunna, 6ixnine, XXXTentacion along with his brainwashed stans and greedy label, Drake, Kanye, and etc. Plus, the guy is on the spectrum so MAJOR props to him for being able to run this while being autistic. I live for the fact that he has NO filter whatsoever. So yeah, ATRLers will probably hate on him because he isn't YESSSSSSSSSSS bitch over your fave (unless it's Kesha), but he has very entertaining videos and an inspiration to people on the autism spectrum like myself.

3. DanelleHallan

Youtube Genre: True Crime, Mystery

The last of the true crime Youtubers. I love how Danelle puts so much heart and effort into each and every case she covers and I love how organized her schedule is to where you can actually find her channel and catch up to it at your own pace. She's grown such a huge base in the last two years and she is the one that is now collaborating with John Lordon. I also follow her on Instagram. So that shows how much I like her channel.

2. Adam Wright (adamusic)

Youtube Genre: Music, DJ mashups

I really have gotten into Adam's mashup channel over the last two years, and this year he was one awesome megamix after another. He is also an ADORABLE dude and an Arianator. He did video reactions for Sweetener (and basically had an orgasm over Goodnight N Go) and the thank u, next video. The above year-end megamix for this year is highly recommended from me, and like Danelle, I also follow him on Instagram.

1. Whitey28

Youtube Genre: Gaming

By far the channel I was always checking my subscriptions for the most. Danielle does LP's on the pre-made Sims 2 neighborhoods (all 6 of them over the last 4 years). She is currently on Season 2 of Pleasantview, plus a Sims 4 townies game, and more. Her evolution over the last 4 years and her storytelling AND her way of listening to her viewers like me is so nice. So she deserved the #1 this year.

- I hope you guys don't mind these smaller lists I am getting out of the way. It does take 1 to 2 hours to do 10 songs for my best of because of the stats I pull up for them from my countdown and my Zero Charts, so I have to have four tabs open at once. Even my Top 50 for the first half of my 20s will be easier because I won't be using stats on that one. That being said, I still have one more smaller list to do, and my Top 50 for the first half of  my 20s. If it means posting updates during the day and doing main one at night, maybe that will work. Thankfully I only have 30 songs to go so it shouldn't be that hard. Anyways, just know that I will update that later but I need to be able to sit down and get all the stats ready.
