Day 6 time :gaycat3:

DOmpfRa.gif

Best Bands + Groups

This is ranked by a mix of how much I enjoyed their 2018

material and the level of impact they had on my year.

05. Imagine Dragons

Biggest Hit: Radioactive || Favorite Song: Radioactive

Dan and the crew continued to be all over radio, with "Believer" and "Thunder" even getting plenty of recurrent plays. They

were also kind enough to give us new material less than a year and a half after Evolve and... well, it wasn't their best work,

but we appreciate the gesture anyway.

04. Now, Now

Biggest Hit: None LOL || Favorite Song: Window

Only discovered them this year and their album Saved is really great. It has such a nice sound and plenty

of standouts that give it some great replay value. In fact, I just returned to it earlier today.

03. twenty one pilots

Biggest Hit: Stressed Out || Favorite Song: Guns for Hands

Tyler & Josh continued what they do best and even experimented a little more than usual. Trench wasn't as successful

as many predicted but it was acclaimed by both critics and fans, plus the single choices are pretty strong (so far.)

02. 5 Seconds of Summer

Biggest Hit: Youngblood || Favorite Song: Girl I can't decide anymore...

They were generous to give us yet another long ass album (with the Target bonus tracks included) and though I never

expect them to top their amazing debut, Youngblood actually isn't far behind in quality. They also branched out into

new sounds, and even managed to get their first undebatable huge hit in the US, and pretty much worldwide.

01. CHVRCHES

Biggest Hit: The Mother We Share || Favorite Song: Clearest Blue

Before this year I've seen their name a few times before but never listened to a song, then in February I saw they released

a new single so I thought it was a good time to start. It definitely was because honestly, "Get Out" is a career highlight for

them. Plenty of people think they're getting worse with every release though I actually think it's the opposite, Love Is Dead

may be "more mainstream" and not as sharp lyrically, but I was more than satisfied with what we received. They also gave

us a little acoustic EP last month as a cherry on top, we love that!

WLM is great but did you check out the album? Better songs on there, including their current single Think About Us.

I haven't listened to one of their albums in full, maybe a few snippets here and there but nothing has interested me enough :-* Woman Like Me and Lightning are their only two songs worthy of a download tbh. I was kinda planning on hearing LM5 since I enjoyed WLM more than I expected, but the promo tracks turned me off.

Yeah Origins was a choice :keir:

Get over yourself and just listen to the albums, you do know that often times the album tracks are miles better than chosen singles right?

Not the most relevant category but there's usually a few of these every year that are actually well made and give

This set isn't my favorite tbh, but Pray for Me is good and Barbie Dreams is decent!

Youngblood is one of my least favorite hits of the year  I liked SSLP and Amnesia better

Wow Caught in the Middle is like one of the best songs from that album. Glad you see the light - I feel it's SO underrated.

CHVRCHES >>> Scottish excellence, even if I may personally not be SUPER into Love is Dead.
