It’s because they start the YEC eligibility period in December. But you have to remember that those songs were huge smashes leading into the new year, and the longevity is what’s giving them the stability to chart so high. Let me streams Sweetener from start to finish NOW I think it’s just because a song that explodes from the start, debuting high and then going recurrent quicker, isn’t going to chart as well as a slow burning song that has the benefit of charting below #50 for a few weeks and then eventually climbing up the chart. Plus, it didn’t have much radio longevity because radio is busy playing three other solo Ariana songs now. Still already has more US Spotify streams than a bunch of the songs above it, like Girls Like You, Never Be The Same, Boo’d Up, Bad At Love, Finesse (and still higher on US Spotify than all of those too)...
