Carefully watch out for Lucid Dreams.. Still so stable af and could be another coming back to school anthem for the young demo...

Drake has either released or been featured on a song every month this year, I could see this being his release in September.

Second question: wide awake by Katy peaked at #2. I just want to know how far in points was Katy from the #1 song. Please charts experts, your help with this.

I don’t know the exact amount of points, but I’ll post the stats from that week and maybe one of the prediction experts can calculate the total points:

Call Me Maybe —

Sales: 179k

onDemand Streams: 915k

Airplay: 109m

Wide Awake —

Sales: 151k

onDemand Streams: 508k

Airplay: 117m

Wide Awake actually had 580k onDemand Streams. Think you just had a typo.

No idea what the formula was back then, but she was lucky to get that #2 peak, I remember we were happy it peaked at #2. She was getting #1’s too fast and she needed a #2 peaking song.

Simm uses: sales / 750 + airplay / 900,000 + streams / 160,000

I use: sales / 750 + airplay / 1,000,000 + streams / 150,000

HDD reported it’s: 1 sale = 1,167 airplay = 208 on-demand streams = 416 radio streams

But now paid streams are weighed more.. So it’s impossible to get it perfect

2 Girls Like You       336  (=)

4 Fefe       270  (=)

5 Better Now       252 (=)

6 Lucid Dreams       239 (=)

One of these will be the next #1 after IMF (which is falling faster than these 4).

Post Malone could do it, he still has a video to be released! and YT is the song's weak metric.

Whistle

217,000 downloads (#1)

66,000,000 AI (#12)

749,000 streams (#3)

217 + 99 + 75 = 391

Lights

111,000 downloads (#11)

121,000,000 AI (#1)

829,000 streams (#1)

111 + 181.5 + 83 = 375.5

BB didn't give much insight for when Lights first hit #2:

Call Me Maybe

#3 downloads

#5 radio

#2 streams

Lights

#8 downloads (120,000)

#4 radio

#1 streams

If only discounts were more popular in 2012 :jonny2: Ellie didn't deserve the cockblocking!

lights getting blocked by that trash whistle was a low point of my teenage years tbh

also UGH at the fact that it was the #1 in streaming but flopped on itunes... it was ahead of its time and would have definitely been #1 with the current formula

Im honestly surprised more people didn’t discount when sales were stronger. Probs because less profit for the song. But there were a lot of songs during the digital sales era that peaked and #2 and in some cases #3 that could have gone #1 with a one week discount. I remember discounts used to do wonders a few years ago by they were rarely seen on top songs.

Ugh, this ****ing TEA :'( So bizarre that it was a radio and streaming smash but never had a big digital peak. Still sold about 5M though :eddie:

It wasn't definitely a money thing. A label doesn't fulfill a bottom line by having a #1 hit - though it's great marketing material - they probably would've made less money from downloads if they discounted than if they kept it full price. Now it's probably more worth it.

Yes and I'd totally be fine with Better Now going #1. It will be the next #1 on pop radio and the video is still coming,it also helps that it's a great song. Fefe is going to fall hard this week so probably not. Girls Like You is going to start getting pushed even harder than it already has this Friday, so who knows how that will come into play.

After the #11 debut, I'm not getting my hopes up for GIAW in the top 10 until I see the article on Monday LOL

FEFE can still be #4 if the radio updates get better

Lucid Dreams is just getting a bigger boost in sales and streams.

FEFE is gaining, why do you have it loosing points? Plus it was promoted at VMA’s. I have it at #4

I don't have it losing points. It's that Lucid Dreams and Better Now are increasing more. But They are very close so FEFE can still be #4

This is just a very early prediction...

Yeah you’re right. On the bright side it’s Urban and Rhythimic growth appears to be fairly even. So it should top both around the same time. If it happens to top both it could get up to 70-80M audience from those 2 formats combined.

They need to push this on pop radio tbh. Even if it only gets 20-30M on pop radio it will def help.

Maroon 5, a new smash has a better chance.

I'm surprised lucid dreams is still hanging in there
