Thanks for the update! Obviously very frontloaded but still insane and he is still possibly coming for #2 OAT, but i think it's safe to say Adele's record will stay safe, given that he's 100k below what 25 had after the first 3 days!

Adele's record is safe for sure.

Ed's numbers are incredible though, especially for a march release :jonny: #2 biggest opening ever?

It's kinda crazy how Ed and Adele has literally been ruling UK since 2011 :dies:

It's amazing how the UK didn't get rid of them like they do with everyone else :toofunny2: Original talent always wins, that's why their replacements are struggling.

Sam will get the Emeli treatment on his next album for sure.

That's so big. Now we can say he will pass Oasis' numbers for sure right?

Wonder how much of that comes from SEA and TEA.

But i reckon with this start he may do 550k 1st week, astounding :jonny:

And possibly more than in US :deadbanana2:

They don't count TEA in the UK. And it is expected that around 90k "sales" will come from streaming (in first week).

Debut weeks are always huge, no matter when the album is released. The second biggest debut week in the US was in march (NSYNC - 2.4 million). In the UK Oasis album was released in august, Coldplay in june... and they did huge numbers. Releasing in the 4th quarter only multiply album sales because of holiday shopping.
