#23 Delicate (-3)

how.... :deadbanana: with 10 new Drake tracks above it + I'm Upset which jumped so many spots :jonny:

I think with the new rules radio has a bigger influence on the Hot 100. For example Lucid Dreams free fell this week while Girls Like You stayed in the top 5.

So it would've been #13 if it wasn't for Drake? I'm upset.

Wait so this means Delicate has a small chance to reach top 10 if it doesn't peak on radio  this week? :jonny5:

Sadly I think it's already peaking on radio though

Last week it had a random streaming increase that didn't make sense though and it was in its 20th week on the chart so this week probably went recurrent thanks to Drake's album bomb.

Last week a remix featuring Gucci Mane, YG, & 2 Chainz was released.

that must have been the case yeah!

No Tears Left To Cry also only fell #15 and it was predicted to fall like 5 spots lower.

This is another proof that the airplay influence increased on the Hot 100:

Backstreet Boys - Don't Go Breaking My Heart returned at #84 reaching a new peak  (it's only doing good on radio)

This is probably also the reason why Nonstop didn't reach the #1.

Nice For What ~19k sales, 92.3 million airplay and 41.9 million streams

I Like It               47k sales, 88.9 million airplay and 38.7 million streams

That's honestly pretty weird that I Like It is only #3. Yes it certainly has a lot more free streams than Nice For What and that is the reason for it being #3, but still :rip:

That 28k sales can't offset 3.4 million airplay and 3.2 million streams... Wow

Does this mean Billboard drastically cut the weight of sales?

I’m thinking they cut back streaming due to the growth over the past year to align better with airplay peaks. And then gave sales an even deeper cut due to its constant decrease.

No

Cutting into a metric that is already decreasing makes absolutely no sense.

Are all the numbers official BB numbers, or are they third party estimates?

True. I think they decreased the streaming to adjust the charts because of this:

Billboard has applied a formula adjustment, as is regularly administered, to the Hot 100 (and genre charts that employ the same streaming, airplay and sales-based methodology) to rebalance the ratio among streaming, airplay and sales to account for changes in music consumption patterns, i.e., continued increases in streaming and decreases in sales.

They did the same when digital sales started to become huge in 2007 because if not the Hot 100 would look like the Digital Songs chart just like they are doing it right now because if not the Hot 100 would look like the Apple Music/Spotify chart.

Billboard seriously needs to cut airplay from the equation.

No. The chart would look like a copy of the Streaming Songs chart :rip:

The Hot 100 looking exactly like the Hot 100 Airplay chart circa. 2002-2005 teas.

I am glad that they are pushing IMF over DMTM. Like, I know they want to push the MJ single but it’s going to take a huge push to get it close to #1. The song just isn’t it imo. Nonstop and Mob Ties :eli: have a better chance at #1 unless DMTM gets a killer video.
