Not really, Demi's biggest UK hits are features with already successful UK acts which explains her lead over Selena but more than half of her own singles as a lead artist are only silver certified while all but 2 of Selena's singles as a lead artist are gold certified. They have the same amount of solo certifications. Selena (in general and solo) has spent more cumulative weeks on both the UK singles & albums chart (even if you take away her first two albums with the scene + her compilation album) than Demi. Their highest solo single peak is the same (#3) and Rare outpeaked all of Demi's albums and is just 3 weeks away from outcharting all of them as well. Demi also has less certified album units in total than Selena.

That's not true

as solo, Demi's biggest hit in the UK it's 'Sorry Not Sorry', peaked only at #9 but is almost a million seller song, 975k rn to be more specific. Selena herself doesn't have even a platinum song yet.

Also, Demi's silver songs, most of them didn't even enter the charts and was able to got a certification, how many Selena's flop uk singles did that?, Naturally, a number #7 hit, didn't crossed that mark yet.

Selena has more certified albums, but 'DEMI' outsold all of them.

What's not true? Does Selena not have 2x the amount of single gold certifications as a lead artist that Demi does? Does Selena not have more solo single gold certifications? Are the majority of Demi's singles as a lead artist not only certified silver? Has Selena not spent more weeks both overall and solo on the singles chart and more weeks on the albums chart than Demi even when you remove 3 of her albums? Are their highest solo single peak not the same? Did Rare not outpeak all of Demi's albums? Is Rare not 3 weeks away from outcharting all of them? I fail to see what's not true :michael:

Unpromoted solo third single Hands To Myself which didn't even go top 10 is platinum :heart2: "most" only one Demi single that didn't chart managed to scrap a certification.

That’s not true that their are equivalent forces in the UK

you missed the point, by your criteria, Demi’s has more gold album than Selena’s, while Selena has more silver ones, that makes Demi better than Selena at album Sales? Of course not (Dismiss the fact that Demi’s first UK promoted album was Unbroken, the 3rd of her, while Selena’s was Kiss and Tell, her first)

And so what they have the same solo peak?, Demi’s #9 sold 2 times more than Selena’s #3, Demi’s flop single that didn’t chart sold more than Selena’s #7 and #9, peak doesn’t mean anything.

Stone Cold only surpassed Naturally while solo third single top 20 Hands To Myself surpassed 3/4 of Demi's solo top 10s including her top 3 :heart2:

Gurl why are you still here? You can make all the excuses you like using “ah features” “ah promo” or whatever you want to justify your delusion that Selena is the bigger artist here in the U.K, in reality she simply isn’t. Rare is like the first era where the U.K. has fully been here for her (sadly) and HTM was promoted a lot here on radio/TV which is why it was a hit compared to GFY & SOL :rip:

IDK why you’re so pressed trying to argue with everyone in this thread, the receipts are in the OP, Demi is more successful here, deal with it.
