Yeaaaah… this is bull****. All major publications (Billboard, Rolling Stone, etc.) count these under Miley's discography because she performs the majority of the songs, same reason The Bodyguard counts under Whitney's discography, which in conclusion is also the reason Camp Rock does not count for Demi, as she's only credited on 3 of the 12 songs as the lead artist. Not to Mention Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus is literally ONLY Miley on all 20 Songs AND her official debut studio album.

Not really when it’s been known that Breakout is Mileys debut album and was listed so by many publications.

 

it would be like counting Destiny Child for Beyonce which you shouldn’t Hannah Montana is a completely different artist to Miley Cyrus, not to mention Mileys Spotify page only lists from Breakout onwards also.

Meet Miley Cyrus is cited by everyone as her debut album, including her own team though

At the release of Younger Now every publication stated it's her 6th studio album. This only adds up if you include MMC.

It's kind of hard to compare between generations.

To put the industry growth into perspective, Britney Spears and Mariah Carey have 6.4m certified singles sales, which is the same amount as Demi.

Not really, Demi's biggest UK hits are features with already successful UK acts which explains her lead over Selena but more than half of her own singles as a lead artist are only silver certified while all but 2 of Selena's singles as a lead artist are gold certified. They have the same amount of solo certifications. Selena (in general and solo) has spent more cumulative weeks on both the UK singles & albums chart (even if you take away her first two albums with the scene + her compilation album) than Demi. Their highest solo single peak is the same (#3) and Rare outpeaked all of Demi's albums and is just 3 weeks away from outcharting all of them as well. Demi also has less certified album units in total than Selena.

HM's albums are credited to Miley on both the official UK chart and Billboard, she sings 9/13 - 11/15 of the tracks while Demi sings 3 tracks for CR, it might as well be a Meaghan Martin album considering she sings 3 songs as well, in fact she has more solo songs on it than Demi

All this discussion over camp rock certifications which makes up 0.16m of Demi's 6.82m total is a bit much

 

 

I'm going to leave them in for the sake of completeness as they serve as Demi's major debut and she spearheads the soundtrack. also since they make no material difference anyway, it's kinda irrelevant
