As the competition gets tougher and tougher, we're looking for artists who really understand mass appeal and can make the entire globe appreciate their music. This episode, we're looking for songs which highlight some of the most wondrous elements our planet has had to offer; The Seven Wonders. However, this is the Top 7, and we're needing everyone to step it up. Simply writing about one of the seven wonders wouldn't capture the attention of the globe now, would it? Our social media bloggers have kindly compiled not one, but two lists for this episode, one for the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and one for the Seven Wonders of the Natural World. To make it clearer, here is a table outlining eligible sources of inspiration: Wonders of the Ancient World Wonders of the Natural World The Great Pyramid at Giza, Egypt The Grand Canyon The Hanging Gardens of Babylon Parícutin The Statue of Zeus at Olympia, Greece Northern Lights The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus Victoria Falls The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus Harbor of Rio de Janeiro The Colossus of Rhodes Great Barrier Reef The Lighthouse at Alexandria, Egypt Mount Everest The challenge here being to write a song which combines elements of one Ancient wonder and one Natural wonder in a creative way. A highly metaphorical approach would be suggested, but ultimately the choice is yours. The links above include plenty of facts and general information which you may find useful when searching for a common link to bridge the two themes. Star Challenges ✪ Don’t include your wonders’ names/locations in your song, but still retain strong enough connections. ✪ Include a section of your song, however small, written in the native language of one of your wonders’ locations. This is a sign-up based challenge, so please state which of the two wonders you would like to write about for this round below. First come, first serve. If you are struggling, you may choose to swap one or both of your wonders at any point during the challenge so long as both parties consent to the swap. The other Natural wonders open the door for fire and water imagery respectively. Definitely not bad combos to be “stuck” with imo. The world is full of inspiration, hopefully y’all make it tough for us to split y’all this week.
