To me Drake was never "black"

He's mixed. Sure. But he doesn't look black, nor is a figure in black music.

you pointed to one person pulling huge streaming number and not even in the same context.

facts remain that even with streaming we would never get back to a time when albums doing 8mil just in the usa is a norm

Let's compare with the 00's list: Eminem & The Beatles are the only artists that appeared in both lists:

2000's Top 10 Selling Album Artists in the US

1) Eminem - 32,241,000
2) The Beatles - 30,182,000

3) Tim McGraw - 24,769,000
4) Toby Keith - 24,469,000
5) Britney Spears - 22,969,000
6) Kenny Chesney - 22,034,000
7) Linkin Park - 21,421,000
8) Nelly - 21,232,000
9) Creed - 20,594,000
10) Jay-Z - 20,424,000

Also Females did better this decade compared to the 00's.

Britney was the only female in the top 10 of the 00's  while Adele, Taylor Swift & Lady Gaga are the only females in the top 10 of the 10's.

Not sure about this, but one thing that’s for sure is Drake (and Eminem) their core audience is undoubtedly straight white boys. :cm:

Image result for Drake is not black

How is this black lol

Like, yes, he's ethnically black cause his father is African-American. But he's not really black. Look at the picture!

I mean no one I know considers him to be a black artist. He's mostly known as Canadian so :cm:

That's what I'm saying. A lot of black kids fuxx with him too. But not to the point of him being a true black figure in hip hop or pop music like Kendrick or Beyoncé are.

Yes, what I was insinuating is that he's more of a "Canadian guy" who's VERY famous for being a rapper/singer than a black artist doing, say, R&B music or true hip hop music.

so having a white audience negates your black audience and your blackness?

drake is actually shaping the hip hop scene into his image, "true" hip hop and "really black" artists are copying his sound and his not a figure in the hip hop scene?  please stop

Drake's whole career is based on songwriting done by Kid Cudi and Kanye West in the late 2000s.
